Ruijin Hospital () is a renowned general hospital in Shanghai, China, with the rating of "Grade 3, Class A", the highest rating in the Chinese medical system. It is a university hospital affiliated to School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The hospital was founded in 1907, formerly known as Sainte Marie Hospital in English and Guangci in Chinese (). It has a land area of 120,000 sq. meters, among which, buildings cover 245,000 sq. meters and green field, 40,000 sq. meters. Huangpu District (), makes up the eastern part of Shanghai's traditional urban core and is today the most central of Shanghai's 16 districts. Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU; ) is a public research university in Shanghai, China. The university is funded by the Ministry of Education of China. The university was established on April 8, 1896 as Nanyang Public School (南洋公學) by an imperial edict. Chen Zhu
Chen Zhu (; born August 17, 1953) is a Chinese hematologist, molecular biologist, and politician. He is a vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and President of the Red Cross Society of China. He was also the chairman of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party from 2012 to 2022. He formerly served as China's Minister of Health. Chen also holds a professorship at the School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Wang Zhenyi
Wang Zhenyi (; born November 30, 1924), also known as Zhen-yi Wang, is a Chinese pathophysiologist and hematologist who is a professor emeritus of Medicine and Pathophysiology at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). He is most well known for discovering the cure for acute promyelocytic leukemia while working with Laurent Degos in France, using tretinoin on a trial of 24 patients at Ruijin Hospital in 1986. Chen Saijuan (; born May 1951), also known as Sai-Juan Chen, is a Chinese hematologist and molecular biologist with a research focus on leukemia cytogenetics. She is a professor and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Medical Genomics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Hematology, and Vice-Chairwoman of the Chinese Medical Association.
