Royseven
Royseven are a six-piece alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland. They are known for songs such as "Dance" and " We Should Be Lovers", and have released two albums to date: '' The Art of Insincerity'' (2006) and '' You Say, We Say'' (2011). Royseven met through mutual friends- and an advert in an Irish music magazine. Singer, Paul Walsh and guitarist Eamonn Barrett, advertised in Hot Press magazine for a drummer, they interviewed several but quickly decided on Darragh Oglesby. It was he who suggested keyboard player Paul O’Hara and when their first bass player Andrew (Drew) Kennedy ( blancatransfer) left, Oglesby identified a replacement duo to bolster the line-up even more. ''The Art of Insincerity'' is a debut album released by the Irish alternative rock sextet, Royseven. It was recorded at Grouse Lodge studio and released on 20 October 2006, reaching #17 in the Irish Albums Chart. The single "Happy Ever Afters" was performed on ''Tubridy Tonight'' on 4 November 2006, a show that featured a selection of comic and political guests in the form of Mario Rosenstock, John & Richard Bruton and Des Bishop Desmond Bishop (born 12 November 1975) is an American-Irish comedian. We Should Be Lovers
"We Should Be Lovers" is the second single taken from the Royseven album '' You Say, We Say''. It was released on 19 February 2011 and went on to become the most played Irish song on radio that year, beating rivals Westlife, The Script and Snow Patrol. "We Should Be Lovers" entered the Irish Singles Chart on 24 March 2011 and reached number sixteen, spending six weeks in the chart altogether. "We Should Be Lovers" was shortlisted for Meteor Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year 2011. ''You Say, We Say'' is the second studio album by Irish alternative rock band Royseven. It was released in Ireland on 11 March 2011. It was preceded by the lead single, "Killer", on 19 November 2010 and followed by second single "We Should Be Lovers" on 19 February 2011. Roadrunner Records is an American record label focused on heavy metal and hard rock bands. The Coronas
The Coronas are an Irish rock band that originated in Dublin. They release their music by their own independent record label, 3ú Records, and are based between Dublin and London. Irish Showband
The Irish showband was a dance band format popular in Ireland from the mid-1950s to mid-1980s. The showband was based on the internationally popular six- or seven-piece dance band. The band's basic repertoire included standard dance numbers and covers of pop music hits. The versatile music ranged from rock and roll and country and western songs to traditional dixieland jazz and even Irish Céilí dance, Newfie stomps, folk music and waltzes. Key to a showband's popular success was the ability to perform songs currently in the record charts. Some bands also did comedy skits onstage. The line-up usually featured a rhythm section of drums, lead, rhythm and bass guitars, a keyboard instrument, and a brass section of trumpet, saxophone and trombone.
