Rollo And King
Rollo & King was a Danish group, formed by Søren Poppe and Stefan Nielsen, who represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. The two men named themselves after two dog names. They topped the charts with their first album ''Midt i en løbetid'' which stayed in the charts for 13 weeks in 2000–2001. Before Søren Poppe got famous with the band, he was a teacher in a school in Valby, in Copenhagen teaching music and mathematics. Eurovision Danmarks Radio invited them to enter the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2001. They won with their song ''Der står et billede af dig på mit bord'' (literal translation, "There's a picture of you on my desk"). The weekly Danish singles chart Track Top-40 combines the 40 best-selling tracks from legal music downloads and the sales of music singles on either CD or vinyl. Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "Tell Me Who You Are" written by Michael Ronson. The song was performed by Malene Mortensen. The Danish broadcaster DR organised the national final ''Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2002'' in order to select the Danish entry for the 2002 contest in Tallinn, Estonia. Ten songs competed in a televised show where "Vis mig hvem du er" performed by Malene Mortensen was the winner as decided upon through two rounds of jury voting and public voting. Malene Mortensen
Malene Winther Mortensen (born 23 May 1982) is a Danish singer. She entered the Danish music scene in 2001, during the first season of ''Stjerne for en aften'', the Danish edition of '' Star for a Night''. She made it to the finals, with her rendition of Moloko's "Sing It Back". The following year, she entered the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2003 she released her debut album called ''Paradise''. Olsen Brothers ( da, Brødrene Olsen) are a Danish rock/pop music duo, formed by brothers Jørgen (born 15 March 1950) and Niels "Noller" Olsen (born 13 April 1954), both from Odense, who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2000. They formed their first band, The Kids, in 1965. The Kids warmed up for The Kinks in the K.B. Hallen in 1965 and released their first single in 1967. The Eurovision Song Contest 2001 was the 46th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the with the song " Fly on the Wings of Love" by Olsen Brothers. Signe Svendsen
Signe Svendsen (born 16 October 1974) is a Danish singer. She took part in Eurovision Song Contest 2001 with the duo formation Rollo & King singing "Never Ever Let You Go" that was runner-up in the competition. She has developed a solo career with release of two albums. Career Svendsen graduated from Nyborg Gymnasium and Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in 1998. She gained fame through her participation in Eurovision Song Contest in 2001. She continued on with a solo career and toured with Niels Hausgaard in 2007-2010 releasing ''Ny passager'', her debut solo album in 2010. She wrote or co-wrote eight of the ten titles of the album. She promoted the album with a tour later releasing recordings from the tour in her 2011 album ''Live 2010''. In June 2012, she released the single "Din Sang" (meaning Your Song) from her second album ''Kun de faldne rejser sig igen'' on 9 September 2013 that reached Top 3 in Tracklisten, the official Danish Albums Chart.
