"Never Ever Let You Go", originally released as "Der står et billede af dig på mit bord" (), is a 2001 song by Danish musical duo Rollo & King. The song represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 after winning ''Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2001'', Denmark's national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Background The song is from the perspective of a man who has lost his lover. He pleads with her to return and promises that he will "never ever let you go". Production Originally, the band had planned to enter the ''Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2001'' with a song called "Den eneste ene". However, the song was rejected by Mega Records, with the director saying "it's shit". In a week, the band found an unfinished idea called "Der står et billede af dig på mit bord", which the director approved. Rollo & King
Rollo & King was a Denmark, Danish group, formed by Søren Poppe and Stefan Nielsen (musician), Stefan Nielsen, who represented Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. The two men named themselves after two dog names. They topped the charts with their first album ''Midt i en løbetid'' which stayed in the charts for 13 weeks in 2000–2001. Before Søren Poppe got famous with the band, he was a teacher in a school in Valby, in Copenhagen teaching music and mathematics. Eurovision Danmarks Radio invited them to enter the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2001. They won with their song ''Der står et billede af dig på mit bord'' (literal translation, "There's a picture of you on my desk"). Together with female singer, Signe Svendsen, who had joined the group, they performed the song (translated into English as "Never Ever Let You Go") at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 and received 177 points ranked second out of 23 entries. Malene Winther Mortensen (born 23 May 1982) is a Danish singer. She entered the Danish music scene in 2001, during the first season of ''Stjerne for en aften'', the Danish edition of '' Star for a Night''. She made it to the finals, with her rendition of Moloko's "Sing It Back". Frank Jensen (born 28 May 1961) is a former Danish politician of the Danish Social Democrats who served as Lord Mayor of Copenhagen between 1 January 2010 and 19 October 2020. Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "Tell Me Who You Are" written by Michael Ronson. The song was performed by Malene Mortensen. The Eurovision Song Contest 2002 was the 47th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Antique (band)
Antique is a Greek singing duo consisting of Helena Paparizou (; born 1982) and Nikos Panagiotidis (; born 1978), originating from Sweden and combining Greek popular music and lyrics with a Nordic dance-pop beat. Both Paparizou and Panagiotidis were born and raised in Sweden by Greek parents. They were the first ever to be nominated for a Swedish Grammis in the category modern dance with a Greek song. In 2001, Antique were selected to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen with the song " Die for You", sung in a blend of English and Greek, ending with a third place – only behind Estonia and hosts Denmark.
