Robotics in Italy is a high technology area where Italy hosts numerous research centers. History The origins of this technology in Italy, but also in the world, which requires knowledge of many sciences to be applied, beginning in the Italian Renaissance with the studies of Leonardo da Vinci. Italian Renaissance
The Italian Renaissance ( it, Rinascimento ) was a period in Italian history covering the 15th and 16th centuries. The period is known for the initial development of the broader Renaissance culture that spread across Europe and marked the transition from the Middle Ages to modernity. A plantoid is a robot or synthetic biology, synthetic organism designed to look, act and grow like a plant. The concept was first scientifically published in 2010 (although models of comparable systems controlled by neural networks date back to 2003) and has so far remained largely theoretical. Plantoids imitate plants through appearances and mimicking behaviors and internal processes (which function to keep the plant alive or to ensure its survival). LifeHand
LifeHand is a prosthetic hand project that allows patients to use an artificial hand to perform daily tasks, but also grants the patient the ability to sense what they are touching. This specific type of prosthetic is called a neuroprosthetic; it's a type of prosthetic that uses a neurological connection between the user and the prosthetic hand to allow the sense of touch. Witsensory feedback the artificial hand allows the user to perceive these senses due to the connection between the patient and the prosthetic. The project was developed/experimented on in the city of Rome, by European researchers from SSSA along with other research centers throughout Europe. There were two LifeHand models that were constructed (The first called LifeHand, developed in 2008, and the second called LifeHand 2, developed in 2014).
