Road Signs In Austria
Road signs in Austria are regulated in ''Straßenverkehrsordnung'' (StVO). Road signs are generally placed on the right side next to the road or above the road. Sometimes signs are also placed on both sides, in some exceptional cases signs are only place on the left or on one side (particularly town signs). Austrian warning and prohibitory signs have a white background framed by red edges like most of the European road signs. However Austria has a different ''No through road (dead end) - sign'' as most of the European countries. The sign seems to be a white inverted T and has no red stripe. Austrian road signs depict people with realistic (as opposed to stylized) silhouettes. The Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals, the country's original signatory, takes its name from the country's capital, Vienna. Vienna Convention On Road Signs And Signals
The Convention on Road Signs and Signals, commonly known as the Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals, is a multilateral treaty designed to increase road safety and aid international road traffic by standardising the signing system for road traffic (road signs, traffic lights and road markings) in use internationally. This convention was agreed upon by the United Nations Economic and Social Council at its Conference on Road Traffic in Vienna 7 October to 8 November 1968, was concluded in Vienna on 8 November 1968, and entered into force on 6 June 1978. This conference also produced the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, which complements this legislation by standardising international traffic laws. Deer
Deer or true deer are hoofed ruminant mammals forming the family Cervidae. The two main groups of deer are the Cervinae, including the muntjac, the elk (wapiti), the red deer, and the fallow deer; and the Capreolinae, including the reindeer (caribou), white-tailed deer, the roe deer, and the moose. Snow Chains
Snow chains, or tire chains, are devices fitted to the tires of vehicles to provide increased traction when driving through snow and ice. Snow chains attach to the drive wheels of a vehicle or special systems deploy chains which swing under the tires automatically.
