Richie (film)
''Richie'' (formerly titled as ''Santa Maria'' and ''Avargal'') is a 2017 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language Neo-noir, neo noir action crime film directed by Gautham Ramachandran and written by Rakshit Shetty. It is a remake of the 2014 Kannada film ''Ulidavaru Kandanthe'' and stars Nivin Pauly in the title role, along with Natarajan Subramaniam, Natraj, Shraddha Srinath, and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli in lead roles, while Prakash Raj, Elango Kumaravel, Raj Bharath (actor), Raj Bharath, and Aadukalam Murugadoss play supporting roles. The film began production in June 2016. and was released in India on 8 December 2017. Plot The film opens on Boxing Day with Megha, a news reporter from Chennai who is writing a story about the mysterious death of a young man named Richard K. Rakshit Shetty
Rakshit Shetty (born 6 June 1983) is an Indian actor, film producer, writer and filmmaker of Kannada cinema. He is the recipient of two Filmfare Awards South. Early life Shetty was born in Udupi on 6 June 1983 in a Tulu-speaking Bunt family. He completed his schooling at his hometown. During his schooling days he was an avid '' Pili Nalike'' dancer, a folk dance in the ''Tulu Nadu region''. This made him provide a major role for the dancers in his 2014 film ''Ulidavaru Kandanthe''.
