Restless (Xzibit Album)
''Restless'' is the third studio album by rapper Xzibit. It was released December 12, 2000. It debuted at #14 on the ''Billboard'' 200 with approximately 205,000 copies sold in its 1st week released. The album then fell 17 spots to #31 in the 2nd week, but then rose back up 19 spots to peak at #12 the following week. Also since being released the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA with an excess of a million copies sold in America making it Xzibit's most successful album of his career. Background In an interview with N.O.R.E. on his podcast, ''Drink Champs'', Xzibit told a story of how Dr. Dre became involved with the project as an executive producer and Loud exec Steve Rifkind's lack of involvement. Xzibit
Alvin Nathaniel Joiner (born September 18, 1974), better known by his stage name Xzibit (pronounced "exhibit"), is an American rapper, actor, television presenter, and radio personality. Xzibit began his musical career after the release of his debut studio album, ''At the Speed of Life'', on October 15, 1996. The album was both critically and commercially successful, peaking at number 74 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It also contained the single " Paparazzi", which peaked at number 83 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. This success allowed Xzibit to secure a recording contract with Loud Records later that year. Scott Spencer Storch (born December 16, 1973) is an American record producer and songwriter. He started off as a keyboardist for the group the Roots. Early life Storch was born on Long Island, New York. He was raised in South Florida and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His mother, Joyce Yolanda Storch, was a singer signed to Philadelphia's Cameo-Parkway Records under the stage name Joyce Carol, and is of Lithuanian Jewish heritage. His father, Phil Storch, was a court reporter. His uncle, Jeremy Storch, was a founder of soul-rock band the Vagrants and wrote songs recorded by Dave Mason and Eddie Money. "Get Your Walk On" was the third and final single by American rapper Xzibit, from his 2000 album, '' Restless''. The song is produced by Mel-Man and Battlecat. The music video (directed by Smith 'N' Borin') features various footage of Xzibit (both on stage and backstage) during live concerts and while he's with his friends and fans. Staying true with the name of the song, it also features various kids performing the Crip Walk (as well as Xzibit himself). There is a scene where two sets of kids are standing alongside two sides of a pyramid with one side red and the other side blue- referring to the intense rivalry between the Bloods and the Crips. However this could also symbolize the peace treaty between the two conflicting gangs as well. DJ Quik and WC make cameo appearances. "X" is the first single from Xzibit's third studio album, '' Restless''. Fellow West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg can be heard talking in the outro. It was produced by Dr. Dre with co-production from Scott Storch and Melvin "Mel-Man" Bradford. The song samples the line "Not these niggas again" from Eminem's "Bitch Please II" which is featured on Eminem's album ''The Marshall Mathers LP''.
