Ravno Selo
Ravno Selo (, ; hu, Sóvé) is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the municipality of Vrbas, in the South Bačka District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 3,478 people (2002 census). Name In Serbian, the village is known as ''Ravno Selo'' (Равно Село), in German as ''Alt-Schowe'', and in Hungarian as ''Ósóvé''. Other Serbian names used for the village are: ''Ravno'' (Равно), ''Stare Šove'' (Старе Шове), and ''Šove'' (Шове). History The village was first recorded in the end of the 15th century (between 1484 and 1502). During Ottoman rule (16th-17th century), the village of Šove was populated by Serbs. In 1786, Germans settled in the village as well. In 1820, population of Šove numbered 2,598 inhabitants, of whom 1,643 were Serbs. Lazar "Laza" Ristovski ( sr-Cyrl, Лазар Ристовски, born 26 October 1952) is a Serbian retired actor, director, producer and writer. He has appeared on stage about 4,000 times, and starred in over 40 films, TV series and TV dramas, mostly in lead roles. He briefly served as a member of the National Assembly from 1 August 2022 until his resignation on 9 August 2022. Biography He was born on 26 October 1952, in Ravno Selo village, part of Vrbas, SR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia (modern Serbia), into a family of Yugoslav colonists, his father being born in Macedonia and was from Gugjakovo and his mother in Montenegro. Jožef Velker (Serbian Cyrillic: Joжeф Beлкep, 5 December 1912 – 29 November 1995) was a Serbian footballer. He was one of the most important players in the history of FK Vojvodina. Early life He was born in a town mostly populated by German minority named Šove (currently known as Ravno Selo) in Vojvodina, then still part of Austro-Hungary in a wealthy latifundial family. Montenegrins (ethnic Group)
Montenegrins ( cnr, Црногорци, Crnogorci, or ; lit. "Black Mountain People") are a South Slavic ethnic group that share a common Montenegrin culture, history, and language, identified with the country of Montenegro. Genetics According to one triple analysis – autosomal, mitochondrial and paternal — of available data from large-scale studies on Balto-Slavs and their proximal populations, the whole genome SNP data situates Montenegrins with Serbs in between two Balkan clusters. The military occupation of the Yugoslav region of Vojvodina (now in Serbia) from 1941 to 1944 was carried out by Nazi Germany and its client states / puppet regimes: Horthy's Hungary and Independent State of Croatia. Serbs
The Serbs ( sr-Cyr, Срби, Srbi, ) are the most numerous South Slavic ethnic group native to the Balkans in Southeastern Europe, who share a common Serbian ancestry, culture, history and language. The majority of Serbs live in their nation state of Serbia, as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Kosovo.
