Rajesh Vyas
Rajesh Vyas (Gujarati: રાજેશ વ્યાસ), better known by his pen name Miskin, is a Gujarati poet from India. Born and brought up in Ahmedabad, he completed his doctorate in Gujarati literature. He writes ghazal poetry and columns in various publications. Early life Rajesh Vyas was born on 16 October 1955 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, to Jatashankar and Vijayaben. He completed his primary education from Sheth Chimanlal Nagindas Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad. He completed his matriculation from Sharadagram, Mangrol. He completed a B.A. in Psychology in 1978, a B.A. in Gujarati literature in 1981, and an M.A. in Gujarati literature in 1983 from Gujarat University. He completed his M.Phil. in Gujarati literature in 1985 from Gujarat Vidyapith. He completed his PhD In 1989 from Gujarat University, under Chandrakant Topiwala. Gujarati Sahitya Parishad
Gujarati Sahitya Parishad () is a literary organisation for the promotion of Gujarati literature located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was founded by Ranjitram Mehta with the aim of creating literature appealing to all classes of society and cultivating a literary sense among the people. Many prominent people including Mahatma Gandhi and Kanaiyalal Munshi have presided over the organisation. Its headquarters, located on Ashram Road, is known as Govardhan Bhavan. It has a conference hall and library. ''Parab'' is the monthly magazine of the Gujarati Sahitya Parishad and is published on the 10th of every month. The Gujarat Sahitya Akademi ( gu, ગુજરાત સાહિત્ય અકાદમી) or Gujarat Sahitya Academy, established in 1981, is a government institution dedicated to the development of the languages spoken in Gujarat, India and their literature. Harindra J Dave (19 September 1930 – 29 March 1995) was a Gujarati poet, journalist, playwright and novelist of the post-independence Gujarati literature. Life He was born on 19 September 1930 in Khambhra village in Kachchh District, Gujarat, India (then Cutch State). He was educated at the Samaldas College, Bhavnagar and later University of Bombay. Ramesh Parekh (1940-2006) was a Gujarati poet and lyricist from Gujarat, India. He was one of the most popular poets of modern Gujarati poetry. Though government servant by profession, he had deep interest in literature and music. He contributed heavily in field of poetry including geet, ghazal and non-lyrical poetry. Mareez
Mareez, born Abbas Abdul Ali Vasi (22 February 1917 – 19 October 1983), was a Gujarati poet, mainly popular for his Ghazals. He is popularly known as ''Ghalib of Gujarat''. He left studies in young age and started working in rubber shoe factory. Having been interested in poetry, he took up journalism but remained financially unstable throughout his life. He wrote Ghazals published in collections but many of his works remained uncredited which he sold during his financial difficulties. His popularity escalated after his death. Harsh Brahmbhatt (Gujarati: હર્ષ બ્રહ્મભટ્ટ; born 1954) is a Gujarati language poet and writer from Gujarat, India. He has also made significant contributions to the Urdu ghazal form. He is a recipient of several awards, including the Shayda Award, Kalapi Award, Kumar Suvarna Chandrak and Dhanji Kanji Gandhi Suvarna Chandrak. Early life Brahmbhatt was born on 31 July 1954 in Mahesana, Gujarat, to Vadilal and Sushila Brahmbhatt. The headquarters is in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. History ''Kumar'' was founded by Ravishankar Raval in Ahmedabad in 1924. The magazine was started as an avant-garde cultural publication. Bachubhai Ravat served as editor-in-chief from 1924 to 1942 with him. After the death of Ravishankar Raval, Bachubhai served as editor until 1980. After the death of Bachubhai in 1980, Biharibhai Tank became the editor of magazine. In 1987, it was closed. After three years, in 1990, under the editorship of Dhiru Parikh, the publication resumed.
