Ryszard Kierczyński
Ryszard Kierczyński (3 March 1902 (estimated) - 22 December 1971) was a Polish stage and film actor. He was the son of Tomasz Kieliszczyk, a labourer, and his wife Bronisława. In 1919, he graduated from high school in Warsaw and went on to study sociology at the Free Polish University. In 1924, he joined Juliusz Osterwa's Theatre Reduta and remained there until 1926. From 1926 to 1927, he belonged to the theatre group based in Łódź. From September 1927, he began to use the name Kierczyński. During the Second World War, he took an active part in the underground movement. Maria Garbowska-Kierczyńska (3 December 19222 January 2016) was a Polish film, stage and television actress, sometimes known as Marianna Garbowska. She began her career in 1946. She appeared in films such as '' Job, czyli ostatnia szara komórka'' (2006) and '' Aftermath'' (2012). Her television credits included '' Plebania'' and '' Ojciec Mateusz''. She was a member of the National Theatre in Warsaw from 1969 to 1979. She was born in Garbów and later married Ryszard Kierczyński. Juliusz Osterwa
Juliusz Osterwa, born Julian Andrzej Maluszek (23 June 1885 – 10 May 1947), was a renowned Polish actor, theatre director and art theoretician active in the interwar period. He was the founder of Theatre Reduta, the first experimental stage in Warsaw following Poland's return to independence at the end of World War One. Osterwa began his Warsaw career at the age of 33 by staging the works of Poland's revolutionary dramatists including Juliusz Słowacki, Stanisław Wyspiański, Stefan Żeromski, Jerzy Szaniawski, Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer, and Cyprian Norwid. This team was commonly known as the actor's commune, resembling an ascetic monastery devoted to spiritual practice.
