Rusted Rail is an Irish independent record label that was started in 2006 by Keith Wallace. Rusted Rail have released albums by artists including Phantom Dog Beneath the Moon, United Bible Studies, The Declining Winter. Music for Dead Birds and Songs of Green Pheasant amongst other artists from Ireland, The UK and Europe. History Keith Wallace formed the label after working as station manager for Flirt FM. They release records primarily on 3" CD, but also on standard format CD. The records released by the label have received international attention for their handmade aesthetic and experimental content. CUBS is a group comprising artists who have released material through the label, including Phantom Dog Beneath The Moon, Loner Deluxe, A Lilac Decline, United Bible Studies, and The Driftwood Manor. Songs of Green Pheasant is the solo project of Duncan Sumpner, a recording artist and school teacher from Heaton Mersey , Stockport, England. Blending acoustic-based songs with electronic effects, Sumpner's music has been described as "psychedelic folk" with "warm washes of sound". , In the mid-late 1990s Sumpner recorded a number of demos with fellow musician Oliver Bird that have remained unreleased. Over the preceding years the pair were reported to be working on finishing the tracks (an album's worth of songs) under the various names Redman Greenman, and Kill This Love, but to date only a fuzzy C90 cassette bears witness to the tracks. Brigid Mae Power
Brigid Mae Power is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. Early life Power was born in London, England to Irish parents. Her family relocated to Ireland when she was eleven years old. She learned to play the button accordion before starting to sing and play piano as a teen. Career Power began releasing music under the name ''Brigid Power-Ryce'' in 2010. Her debut EP ''You Are Here'' was released by the independent label Rusted Rail in 2010. This was followed by two self released EPS, ''Ode to an Emryo'' in 2011, and ''Eee Tuts'' in 2013. The live album ''I Told You The Truth'' was released in 2014 by the label Abandon Reason. Power recorded the album in the St. Nicholas Collegiate Church, Galway city. Yawning Chasm
Aaron Coyne, known professionally as Yawning Chasm, is an Irish alternative folk singer-songwriter from County Galway. Music career Coyne was one half of the Galway electro-folk duo Mirakil Whip in the early 2000s. The group, with fellow Galway musician Anne Marie Deacy, released an EP on the Rusted Rail label and performed a tour of South Korea. His debut album as Yawning Chasm, ''A Shadow Is That Hidden'', was released in 2009 by Rusted Rail. The Italian website reviewed the album positively, comparing the music to that of Red House Painters. The review website Indieville.com wrote: "''The Shadow That Is Hidden'' may be frustratingly short, but it's also consistently great, and that helps make it one of the strongest psychedelic folk releases in recent memory." So Cow
So Cow are an indie rock band from County Galway, Ireland. It was started as the recording project of Brian Kelly in 2005 in Seoul, South Korea. The group evolved into a three piece band with Jonny White on bass and Peter O'Shea on drums for 2014's ''The Long Con,'' released on Goner Records'','' as well as 2012's ''Out Of Season'' split album with Squarehead. The band have appeared at Primavera Sound, SXSW & Castlepalooza. Music For Dead Birds
Music for Dead Birds are an anti-folk band from Galway and County Mayo, Ireland. Its members are Jimmy Monaghan (vocals, guitar) and Dónal Walsh (drums). History Music for Dead Birds formed in Galway city in 2007. In April, 2009, they released their debut album ''"And then it rained for seven days"'' on the Irish independent record label Rusted Rail. The album was self produced by the band and was mainly recorded using a 4-track tape deck. '' Foxy Digitalis'' commented "The additional album info describes the recording as taking place in "various sheds, attics & bedrooms in Galway and Mayo."
