Russian Super Cup
The Russian Super Cup () is a one-match football annual competition. Its official sponsored name is ''OLIMPBET Russian Supercup'' (). The two participating clubs are the Russian Premier League champions and the Russian Cup winners. If the Premier League and the Cup are won by the same team, then the other participant is the league runners-up. The match is played at the beginning of the season, typically in July. The trophy has been contested since 2003. The 2008 Russian Super Cup was the 6th Russian Super Cup match, a football match which was contested between the 2007 Russian Premier League champion, Zenit Saint Petersburg, and the winner of 2006–07 Russian Cup, Lokomotiv Moscow. 2006 Russian Premier League
The 2006 Russian Premier League was the 55th season of the premier football competition in Russia since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the 5th under the current Russian Premier League name. The season started on 17 March 2006 and ended on 26 November 2006. Defending champions CSKA Moscow claimed their second successive title on 18 November 2006 with an away win over Luch-Energiya Vladivostok. Spartak Moscow finished runners-up, level on points with CSKA but ranked behind due to fewer wins (see Tie-breaking criteria below). Lokomotiv Moscow finished third. The 2007 Russian Super Cup was the 5th Russian Super Cup match, a football match which was to be contested between the 2006 Russian Premier League champion and the winner of 2005–06 Russian Cup. However, because the same team won both the league and the cup for the second consecutive season, the match was contested between the champion and the runner-up of the Russian Premier League, CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow, respectively, also for the second consecutive season. The full name of the stadium is Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. Republican Football Club Akhmat ( ce, футболан клуб Ахмат Соьлжа-ГӀала; russian: Республиканский футбольный клуб Ахмат Грозный), commonly known as Akhmat Grozny, is a Russian professional football club based in Grozny that plays in the Russian Premier League. The team was named ''Terek'' between 1958 and 2017. History It was founded in 1946, as ''Dynamo''; it changed its name in 1948 to ''Neftyanik'' and in 1958 to ''Terek'', it changed the name again in 2017 to ''Akhmat''.
