2007 Russian Super Cup
The 2007 Russian Super Cup was the 5th Russian Super Cup match, a football match which was to be contested between the 2006 Russian Premier League champion and the winner of 2005–06 Russian Cup. However, because the same team won both the league and the cup for the second consecutive season, the match was contested between the champion and the runner-up of the Russian Premier League, CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow, respectively, also for the second consecutive season. The match was held on 3 March 2007 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia. CSKA Moscow beat Spartak Moscow 4–2 to win their third overall and second consecutive Russian Super Cup. The Russian Super Cup () is a one-match football annual competition. Its official sponsored name is ''OLIMPBET Russian Supercup'' (). The two participating clubs are the Russian Premier League champions and the Russian Cup winners. If the Premier League and the Cup are won by the same team, then the other participant is the league runners-up. The match is played at the beginning of the season, typically in July. The trophy has been contested since 2003. The team captain of an association football team, sometimes known as the skipper, is a team member chosen to be the on-pitch leader of the team; they are often one of the older or more experienced members of the squad, or a player that can heavily influence a game or has good leadership qualities. Ivan Nikolayevich Taranov (russian: Иван Николаевич Таранов; born 22 June 1986) is a Russian former football defender. Club career Spotted playing at a footballing school in Prokhladny, Taranov was spirited away to a boarding school by Black Sea side FC Chernomorets Novorossiysk where he spent two years learning his craft. After a season in the Novorossiysk side's reserve team in 2001 Taranov opted to move on to Moscow to join CSKA's reserves. Taranov represented his country at Under-19 level, making the step up to the U21 side with a substitute appearance against Luxembourg in October 2005. Rolan Aleksandrovich Gusev (russian: Ролан Александрович Гусев; born 17 September 1977) is a Russian professional football coach and a former player who played as a midfielder. He is the manager of the Under-19 squad of CSKA Moscow. Early life Gusev was born on 17 September 1977 in Ashgabat, Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union but moved to Moscow at the age of 9. He attended the Dynamo Moscow football school. Anton Vladimirovich Grigoryev (russian: Антон Владимирович Григорьев; born 13 December 1985) is a Russian former football central defender. Veniamin Anatolyevich Mandrykin (russian: Вениамин Анатольевич Мандрыкин; born 30 August 1981) is a retired Russian professional football goalkeeper. Career Mandrykin trained at the youth academy at FC Alania Vladikavkaz and in 1997 turned professional aged seventeen. In 1998, he made his Russian Premier League debut and made 46 first-team appearances for FC Alania Vladikavkaz over the next three years before joining PFC CSKA Moscow in 2002. Elvir Rahimić (born 4 April 1976) is a Bosnian football coach and former professional player who spent the majority of his career playing for Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow. He is currently a coach for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Club career Rahimić started his career with the football club Slaven Živinice in his hometown Živinice. Alexandro Silva de Sousa (born 15 April 1983), known as Dudu Cearense or simply Dudu, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who last played for Botafogo.
