2008 Russian Super Cup
The 2008 Russian Super Cup was the 6th Russian Super Cup match, a football match which was contested between the 2007 Russian Premier League champion, Zenit Saint Petersburg, and the winner of 2006–07 Russian Cup, Lokomotiv Moscow. The match was held on 9 March 2008 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia. Zenit St. Petersburg beat Lokomotiv Moscow 2–1 to win their first Russian Super Cup. Russian Super Cup
The Russian Super Cup () is a one-match football annual competition. Its official sponsored name is ''OLIMPBET Russian Supercup'' (). The two participating clubs are the Russian Premier League champions and the Russian Cup winners. If the Premier League and the Cup are won by the same team, then the other participant is the league runners-up. The match is played at the beginning of the season, typically in July. The trophy has been contested since 2003. Aleksandr Gennadyevich Anyukov (russian: Александр Геннадьевич Анюков; born 28 September 1982) is a Russian association football coach and a former player, who played as a right-back. Aleksei Sergeyevich Ionov (russian: Алексей Сергеевич Ионов; born 18 February 1989) is a Russian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Krasnodar and the Russia national team. Igor Vladimirovich Denisov (russian: Игорь Владимирович Денисов; born 17 May 1984) is a Russian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Fernando Ricksen
Fernando Jacob Hubertina Henrika Ricksen (27 July 1976 – 18 September 2019) was a Dutch professional footballer who played as a right back and central midfielder. After winning Eerste Divisie titles with Fortuna Sittard and AZ, he joined Rangers for £3.75 million in 2000. In six years with the club from Glasgow, he won two Scottish Premier League titles, two Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups. He left in 2006 for Zenit Saint Petersburg, initially on loan, and won honours including the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup in 2008. He was dismissed by Zenit in 2009, and spent the final years of his career back at Fortuna Sittard. Internationally, he earned 12 caps for the Netherlands between 2000 and 2003.
