The Heart Of Europe Concert was a concert held on May 18, 2005, in Kyiv's Maidan Nezalezhnosti as part of Eurovision Song Contest 2005 opening. Elena Paparizou
Helena Paparizou (; , ; born 31 January 1962) is a Swedish-born Greek singer, songwriter and television personality. Born and raised in Sweden to Greek parents, she enrolled in various arts schools before launching a career in Sweden in 1999 as a member of the laïko (Greek folk music) and Eurodance duo Antique, who participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 and afterwards became popular. Antique disbanded in 2003, and Paparizou signed a solo recording contract with Sony Music, releasing the chart-topping debut single "Anapandites Kliseis" and album ''Protereotita'' (2004), with emphasis on laïko, pop, and dance sounds, but at first had modest sales. Kolomyjka
The kolomyika ( uk, кoлoмийкa, pl, kołomyjka; also spelled kolomeyka or kolomeike) is a Hutsuls, Hutsul (Ukraine, Ukrainian) music genre that combines a fast-paced folk dance and comedic rhymed verses. It includes a type of performance dance developed by the Ukrainian diaspora in North America. It originated in the west Ukrainian town of Kolomyia, in the Hutsuls, Hutsul region of Eastern Galicia, east Galicia. It was historically popular among the Ukrainians and Poles, and is also known (as the ''kalamajka'') in north-eastern Slovenia where some Ukrainians settled in Austro-Hungarian times.
