Rudy Heryanto
Rudy Heryanto (; born 19 October 1954) is a male Chinese Indonesian former badminton player. Career A men's doubles specialist, Heryanto and fellow countrymen Hariamanto Kartono formed one of the world's leading teams between 1980 and 1985. As upstarts they earned silver medals at the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta, losing the final to veteran Indonesian teammates Ade Chandra and Christian Hadinata. At the 1981 All-England Championships they avenged that loss in the semifinal and went on to defeat another venerable Indonesian pair, Tjun Tjun and Johan Wahjudi in the final. They won the All-Englands again in 1984 and the Indonesia Open in 1982 and 1983. In the momentous Thomas Cup series of 1982 (China's debut) they split their matches against China in Indonesia's narrow 4—5 final round loss. The Indonesia national badminton team represents Indonesia in international badminton team competitions and is controlled by the Badminton Association of Indonesia, the governing body for badminton in Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the only two countries beside China who has won all badminton discipline in the Olympic Games. The Indonesia Open ( id, Indonesia Terbuka) in an annual badminton tournament organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) since 1982. Johan Wahjudi
Johan Wahjudi (; 10 February 1953 – 15 November 2019) was an Indonesian badminton player. Though he played some singles at the international level early in his career, he soon became a doubles specialist noted for his alert and consistent play alongside his more mercurial partner Tjun Tjun. Career Wahjudi and Tjun won men's doubles in the IBF's first World Championships in 1977. They also won 6 All England Open Badminton Championships between 1974 and 1980 during which time their losses were rare and they were clearly the world's number one team. Tjun Tjun () is a retired Chinese-Indonesian badminton player. Career Though a world level singles player early in his career, he became one of the sport's greatest ever doubles specialists. His game was notable for its speed, power, accuracy, and aggressiveness. He is the brother of Liang Qiu-xia, also a badminton player and coach. Tjun Tjun became world champion in men's doubles with Johan Wahjudi at the very first IBF World Championships held in 1977. They also won 6 of the 7 All England Open Badminton Championships held from 1974 through 1980. Christian Hadinata (, born 11 December 1949) is a former Chinese Indonesian badminton player. Profile Though early in his career he was a fine singles player who reached the final of the prestigious All-England Championship in 1973, Christian's success in doubles earned him recognition as one of the great doubles players in badminton history. He won two gold medals at the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta, in men's doubles with Ade Chandra, and in mixed doubles with Imelda Wiguna. He played for Indonesia for 15 years, beginning his career in 1971 at the Asian championships in Indonesia and managed to become a mixed doubles champion with Retno Koestijah. Career A doubles specialist of ample bulk by Indonesian standards, he was noted for his power and quick defensive reflexes.
