Rudolf Bredow
Rudolf Bredow (born 2 November 1909 in Berlin, died 17 November 1973 in Bremen), German Post-expressionism, post-expressionist painter, Drafter, draughtsman and art teacher. Bredow's lifework became famous only after his death. It comprises ca. 1000 documented works (watercolour paintings, coloured chalk drawings, oil paintings and figurines) and numerous previously unreleased drawings. "Bredow’s best works are classical in their simplicity and balance and are equal or quite often even superior to Schmidt-Rottluff’s late black-rimmed watercolour paintings, for instance". Werner Gilles
Werner Gilles (29 August 1894 – 23 June 1961) was a German artist. Gilles was born in Rheydt/Rheinland (today Mönchengladbach) He found his artistic calling while at the academies of Kassel and Weimar, studying under Lyonel Feininger of the Bauhaus school. He later moved after 1921 to Ischia, Italy. He moved to Düsseldorf in 1923, but between 1925 and 1930 he also worked in Berlin and Paris and lived in both during the period. The Nazi regime named him as a degenerate artist from the 1930s, and he had to stop working until after the war. From 1951 he moved to München in the winter, and Ischia in the summer. He died in Essen in 1961. Worpswede (Northern Low Saxon: ''Worpsweed'') is a municipality in the Osterholz-Scharmbeck, district of Osterholz, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated in the Teufelsmoor, northeast of Bremen (city), Bremen. The small town itself is located near the Weyerberg hill. It has been the home to a lively artistic community since the end of the 19th century, with over 130 artists and craftsmen working there. History Its origin goes back to the Bronze Age. The first time it was mentioned however was in 1218. Then it belonged to the Archdiocese of Bremen, Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen. In 1630 it was occupied by Sweden for a short period of time. In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the Duchy of Bremen, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. Abstract expressionism is a post–World War II art movement in American painting, developed in New York City in the 1940s. It was the first specifically American movement to achieve international influence and put New York at the center of the Western art world, a role formerly filled by Art in Paris, Paris. The Baltic Sea is an arm of the Atlantic Ocean that is enclosed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden and the North and Central European Plain. Heinrich Steiner (October 16, 1911 – January 29, 2009) was a German painter and printmaker.Traueranzeige der Familie und Freunde, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, 7. In 1926, he visited the college of arts and crafts in Altona, Hamburg and from 1927 to 1929 he learned scene painting in the Hamburg national theatre and the Berlin national theatre. Subsequently, he was active as a scene painter in the theatre "Am Gärtnerplatz" in Munich. From the year 1932 to 1934 he studied in the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich with Karl Caspar.
