Rudolf Bayr
Rudolf Bayr (19191990) was an Austrian dramatist, lyricist, essayist, critic and translator. Biography Bayr was born on 22 May 1919 in Linz, Upper Austria. Bayr was cultural editor of the Volkischer Beobachter at a young age but later had a considerable career in the media of the Second Republic. Despite this burdensome past after 1945 he wrote, among others, for the Salzburger Nachrichten, worked as a lecturer and author at the Residenz Verlag, and worked from 1975 to 1984 as Intendant of the ORF regional studios Salzburg. Bayr was friends with Karl Heinrich Waggerl and actively supported the initiator of the 1970 Rauriser Literature Days, Erwin Gimmelsberger. Many of Bayr's works deal with the presentation of ancient themes. In 1956, he won the Laureate of the Academy of Sciences Franz Grillparzer Prize. Linz ( , ; cs, Linec) is the capital of Upper Austria and third-largest city in Austria. In the north of the country, it is on the Danube south of the Czech border. The ''Salzburger Nachrichten'' is a German language daily newspaper published in Salzburg, Austria. It has been in circulation since 1945. History and profile ''Salzburger Nachrichten'' was established in 1945 by the American forces occupying Austria following World War II. The first issue appeared on 25 October that year. It remained under the control of the US Information Services Branch for a long time. When the paper became under the Austrian supervision, its early contributors were Viktor Reimann, Ilse Leitenberger and Alfons Dalma who were affiliated with the anti-Fascist groups during World War II. In the post-war period ''Salzburger Nachrichten'' focused on provincial events and news and did not exclusively cover significant events of the period such as the trials of the Nazi figures in Nuremberg. Residenz Verlag
Residenz () is a German word for "place of living", now obsolete except in the formal sense of an official residence. A related term, Residenzstadt, denotes a city where a sovereign ruler resided, therefore carrying a similar meaning as the modern expressions ''seat of government'' or ''capital''. As there were many sovereign (imperially immediate) rulers in the Holy Roman Empire, ranking from Lord (''Herr'') to prince elector and king, there are many cities, palaces, and castles in this territory which used to be a residenz and are partially still so referred to today. The former residenz status of a city is frequently reflected by the architecture of its center. ORF Regional Studios
The ORF regional studios are branch offices from ORF in each state of Austria. Since 1975 there is also a regional office in and since 2021 a broadcasting TV studio in Bolzano for the German-speaking population of South Tyrol, Italy. The regional studios produce their own state radio, broadcast in the whole state. These regional radios are in the Ö2 group. The regional studio in Carinthia also produces the ORF Radio Dva. For television, each regional studio produces its own news with weather for the state, which are broadcast in their state simultaneously on the TV channel ORF2. Every Sunday at 6:30pm, one regional studio gets chosen to produces an „Österreich Bild“, which shows the highlights of their state to the rest of Austria. The Franz Grillparzer Prize was a literary award, named after the writer Franz Grillparzer. It was established in 1872, shortly after his death, by his lover, Katharina Fröhlich. After her death in 1879, the award was continued by a donation to the Austrian Academy of Sciences..
