Early life Rudolf was born at Prague, Kingdom of Bohemia elder son of Ferdinand, 5th Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau and Baroness Maria Charlotte Caroline of Kerpen. He became the prince at the age of 9, upon the death of his father in 1812. The House of Kinsky (formerly Vchynští, sg. ''Vchynský'' in Czech; later (in modern Czech) Kinští, sg. Early life Ferdinand was born at Vienna, Habsburg monarchy as the elder son of Joseph, 4th Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau (1751–1798) and Countess Rosa of Harrach of Rohrau and Thannhausen (1758–1814). He became Prince upon the death of his father in 1798. In 1809 he became one of Ludwig van Beethoven's important patrons. Joseph, 4th Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau (german: Joseph Ernst Leonhard Dominik Fürst Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau; 12 January 175111 August 1798) was the 4th Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau. Early life Joseph was born at Vienna, Habsburg monarchy second son of Franz de Paula Ulrich, 3rd Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau and Countess Maria Sidonie of Hohenzollern-Hechingen. He became the prince upon the death of his father in 1792. Political career Joseph became an Imperial chamberlain in 1767, Lord-in-waiting (wirklicher Kammerherr) in 1772, counsellor to the government of the Archduchy of Austria in 1774, and imperial counsellor in 1775. In this role he travelled extensively throughout Europe. He succeeded his father in 1792, becoming the 4th Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz and Tettau. Franz De Paula Ulrich, 3rd Prince Kinsky Of Wchinitz And Tettau
Franz de Paula Ulrich, 3rd Prince Kinsky of Wchinitz und Tettau, (23 June 1726 – 19 December 1792) was a Bohemian noble and general in service of the House of Habsburg. He was born in Zlonice, Bohemia and died in Prague, Bohemia (present day Czech Republic). Originally a career bureaucrat in Habsburg state service, he inherited the family properties and title following the deaths of his father and his uncle in 1749, and the childless death of his cousin in 1752. Upon his succession, he left state service and joined the Habsburg military. He distinguished himself in several battles of the Seven Years' War, particularly at the battles of Lobositz and Kolin. He retired from the military in 1778, just prior to the War of the Bavarian Succession, to care for his widespread estates in Moravia, Bohemia, and Vienna. He died in 1792.
