''Rub'' is the sixth studio album by Canadian electronic musician Peaches. It was released on September 25, 2015 by I U She Music. The album was produced by Vice Cooler with Peaches in her Los Angeles garage throughout 2013 and 2014. In June 2015 the album was announced to contain guest vocal appearances by Kim Gordon, Feist, and Simonne Jones. Critical reception On Metacritic, ''Rub'' received a score of 78 out of 100 from 12 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Fiona Sturges of ''Uncut'' described the music on the album as "x-rated electro-pop". Peaches (musician)
Merrill Nisker (born 11 November 1966), better known by her stage name Peaches, is a Canadian electroclash musician and producer. Born in Ontario, Peaches began her musical career in the 1990s as part of a folk trio, Mermaid Cafe. In 1995, she established a rock band, the Shit. That year she also released her first solo album, '' Fancypants Hoodlum''. After moving to Berlin, Germany, she was signed to the Kitty-Yo label and released her second album, '' The Teaches of Peaches'' (2000). Moritz Friedrich, better known by his stage name Siriusmo, is a Berlin-based German record producer. Initially influenced by Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Squarepusher, and Aphex Twin, his tracks can be broadly defined as electronic, and are formulated with a variety of samples. Biography The first band that Moritz Friedrich is known to have been in was a group called Sirius. After growing bored of playing the same songs, Moritz left Sirius, taking the band name with him. Jam Rahuoja Rostron (born 25 January 1972), better known by their stage name Planningtorock, is an English electronic musician and record producer who lives in Tallinn, Estonia. Dave Pensado is a Grammy Award-winning mix engineer. His career began in Atlanta in the 1970s and 1980s doing live and studio sound engineering. He has lived in Los Angeles since 1990. He mixes between 200 and 250 songs a year at Larrabee Studios in Los Angeles. When recording he usually records at Echo Bar Studios in North Hollywood. Simonne Jones (born Simonne Michelle Jones in Los Angeles, California) is a producer, singer, composer, model and visual artist based in Berlin. Early life Simonne Jones was born and raised in Hollywood, California. She is of Cherokee and Barbadian descent.
