Holcomb is a city in Dunklin County, Missouri, United States. The population was 635 at the 2010 census. History A post office called Holcomb has been in operation since 1882. The community has the name of Lewis Holcomb, a county sheriff. Geography Holcomb is located at (36.402658, -90.022950). The city lies at the intersection of Missouri Route 25 and Missouri Route 53 in the western Bootheel. The St. Francis River and the Missouri-Arkansas state line pass just to the west. Poplar Bluff, Missouri
Poplar Bluff is a medium city in Butler County in Southeast Missouri, United States. It is the county seat of Butler County and is known as "The Gateway to the Ozarks" among other names. The population was 16,225 at the 2020 census. The Poplar Bluff Micropolitan Statistical Area consists of all of Butler County. The city is at the crossroads of U.S. Route 60 and U.S. Route 67. History The French were the first Europeans to assert any territorial rights over the Poplar Bluff area. The French held the area until 1770 when it was ceded by treaty to Spain. Spain held the area until 1802 when it was returned to France. During this time the area of Poplar Bluff, as well as all of Butler County, held almost no European settlements until 1819, when the first white settler family moved into the Poplar Bluff area. Piggott is a city in Clay County, Arkansas, United States. It is one of the two county seats of Clay County, along with Corning. It is the northern terminus of the Arkansas segment of the Crowley's Ridge Parkway, a National Scenic Byway. As of the 2010 census, Piggott's population was 3,849. The town was named after James A. Piggott, one of the early settlers and initiator of the local post office. Geography Piggott is located in eastern Clay County on the eastern edge of Crowley's Ridge.
