Rossmoyne Senior High School is a public co-educational high day school in the City of Melville, located on Keith Road, Bull Creek, a southern riverside suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Founded in 1968, the school provides education for approximately 2,100 students from Year 7 to Year 12. History Construction of Rossmoyne Senior High School commenced in 1967 on land that was owned by the Webb family who originally came from Scotland. It opened for students the following year (1968). The name Rossmoyne has no connection with the area but was thought to be suitable for marketing a subdivision in the area. Over the years the student catchment areas for Rossmoyne Senior High School were from Lynwood, Willetton, Riverton, Shelley, Bull Creek, Ferndale, southern end of Mount Pleasant, Booragoon and Brentwood. Lynwood is a small southeastern suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Canning. History Lynwood was first settled by Henry Willett of Willett & Co, who was granted Canning Location 21 on the Canning River (which included nearby Parkwood) and settled in the area in June 1832. In November 1964, the Shire of Canning proposed the names "Burtsdale" and "Willetton" for Willetton and Lynwood/Parkwood respectively, the name Burtsdale honouring Septimus Burt, who purchased the land in 1882. In August 1965, developers at Lynwood requested the name "Clovercrest Estate", but finally agreed to "Lynwood". The name Willetton was shifted westwards and Lynwood was gazetted in December 1965. Bateman is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Melville. It is a mostly residential suburb with convenient road access to the Perth central business district, Fremantle, the main industrial sites, and airports.
