Beau Bassin-Rose Hill (or Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill; french: Villes sœurs; ) is a town in Mauritius, located in the Plaines Wilhems District. It is administered by the Municipal Council of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill and has a population of 147,066 habitants, making it the third largest city on the island. Politics Municipal Elections Municipal elections are held every 6 years, the mandate of the Lord Mayor and the Deputy Mayor is two years, then another one is chosen by the members of the board through a system of voting. St. Andrew's School is a private, Anglicanism, Anglican secondary school in Rose-Hill, Mauritius. It is commonly referred to as SAS. It was founded in February 1943 by Father Alan Rogers (bishop), Alan Rogers in his study at the parsonage of St Paul's, Vacoas-Phoenix, Vacoas, under the blessing of Bishop Hugh Otter-Barry. Plaines Wilhems District
Plaines Wilhems () is a district of Mauritius. It is the most populous district, with its population estimated at 366,506 as the end of 2018. The district is mainly urban; it consists of four towns, the village of Midlands and part of two other villages. The Plaines Wilhems district does not have a District Council; it has four Municipal Town Councils. The towns are Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill, Curepipe, Quatre Bornes and Vacoas-Phoenix. The villages are Midlands, Cascavelle (East - West in Rivière Noire district) and Moka (West- East in Moka district). The district was named after Wilhem Leicknig. Loreto College Rose Hill is a private secondary girls' school in Rose Hill, Mauritius. One of seven Loreto College campuses in Mauritius, it opened in 1951. Cathy de Cazanove is the current rector and the asst. rector is Roselyn Thomas. History It's on September 8, 1845, that a small community of Loreto Sisters arrived in Mauritius.
