Ron Wells (politician)
Ronald James Herbert "Ron" Wells (born 22 September 1935) is a former Australian politician. He was born in Cardiff, New South Wales, to Cecil Wells, a businessman, and Mildred, ''née'' Tombs. He received a Higher Diploma in Accounting (Honours) from the University of Western Sydney in 1954, a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) from Sydney University in 1959, a PhD from Cambridge University in 1964, and a Master of Veterinary Science from Melbourne University in 1970. He served in the RAAF from 1955 to 1956 and worked as a veterinarian in 1960 before going to Cambridge. On his return in 1965 he was a foundation senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne's School of Veterinary Science, holding that position until 1985. A member of the Liberal Party, Wells was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly in 1985 as the member for Dromana. Cardiff is a small town in the Lake Macquarie LGA of New South Wales, Australia. It is located west-southwest of Newcastle. Cardiff is home to two government primary schools, a Catholic primary school and a government high school. Anthony J. "Tony" Hyams AM (born 2 November 1945) has spent most of his career in banking, finance, and investment. Since 1996 he has been a professional non-executive company director. Early life Tony Hyams was born in Melbourne, Victoria on 2 November 1945 to David Victor Hyams and Maidie Eunice Hyams (née Flint). He began his education at Toorak Central School (1952–53) and Vermont State School before moving to Melbourne Grammar School in 1955; He graduated in 1963. Gordon Kenneth Rich-Phillips (born 8 July 1974) is a former Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party of Australia (Victorian Division), Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Council between 1999 and 2022, representing the Eumemmerring Province (1999–2006) and the South Eastern Metropolitan Region (2006–2022). First elected at the age of 25, he was the youngest person elected to the Legislative Council.
