Roger Stewart
Roger Tabor Stewart (born October 4, 1931) is an American politician in the state of Iowa. A Democrat, he served in the Iowa Senate for the 13th district between 2003 and 2011. Stewart served on several committees in the Iowa Senate: the Commerce committee; the Environment and Energy Independence committee; the Rebuild Iowa committee; the Ways and Means committee; and the Economic Growth committee, where he was the chair. Patricia Harper (politician)
Patricia Mullaney Harper (born December 4, 1932) is an American teacher and former politician in the state of Iowa. A Democrat, she served in the Iowa House of Representatives as the representative for the 26th district between 1987 and 1991 and between 1991 and 1997. She then served in the Iowa Senate for the 13th district between 1997 and 2003. Early life Harper was born on December 4, 1932, in Cresco, Iowa, to Patrick Mullaney and Martha Mullaney (née Gossman). She graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy in Waterloo in 1950. She received her bachelors of arts degree from the Iowa State Teachers College in 1954, majoring in mathematics and general science. The 13th District of the Iowa Senate is located in southwestern Iowa, and is currently composed of Appanoose, Davis, Monroe and Wapello Counties. LaMetta Wynn
LaMetta Wynn (August 4, 1933 – June 24, 2021) was the mayor of Clinton, Iowa from 1995 to 2007. She was the first African-American woman to hold the position of mayor in any Iowa municipality. Wynn has 10 children and worked for 30 years as a registered nurse. She graduated from Galena High School in Galena, Illinois. Prior to becoming mayor, Wynn served 12 years on the Clinton School Board. The 2006 Iowa Senate election was held on November 7, 2006. The Senate seats for the twenty-five odd-numbered districts were up for election. Senate terms are staggered such that half the membership is elected every two years. Senators serve four-year terms. Prior to the election, the Senate was evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats. Following the election, the Democrats were in the majority - this marked the first time in 42 years that the Democrats had controlled both branches of the Iowa General Assembly and the Governor's Office. Iowa Senate
The Iowa Senate is the upper house of the Iowa General Assembly, United States. There are 50 seats in the Iowa Senate, representing 50 single-member districts across the state of Iowa with populations of approximately 60,927 per constituency, . Each Senate district is composed of two House districts. The Senate meets at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Unlike the lower house, the Iowa House of Representatives, Senators serve four-year terms, with no term limits. Terms are staggered so that half the Senate is up for reelection every two years. Tod Bowman, (born March 29, 1965) is a Democratic Party of Iowa, Democratic politician and legislator from the state of Iowa. He was elected to the Iowa Senate in 2010. He represents District 29, which holds Clinton County, Iowa, Clinton, Dubuque County, Iowa, Dubuque, and Jackson County, Iowa, Jackson counties. Early life and education Bowman is a graduate of Maquoketa Community High School in 1983.
