Patricia Moore
Patricia Moore (born 1952) is an American industrial designer, gerontologist, and author. Moore is a Fellow of the Industrial Designers Society of America and in 2016 was named one of The Most Notable American Industrial Designers in the history of the field. ID Magazine selected Moore as one of The 40 Most Socially Conscious Designers in the world. In 2000, a consortium of news editors named her as one of The 100 Most Important Women in America. In 2012 she was inducted into The Rochester Institute of Technology's “Innovation Hall of Fame” and named a Doctor of Fine Arts by Syracuse University for serving as a “guiding force for a more humane and livable world, blazing a path for inclusiveness, as a true leader in the movement of Universal Design.”. Alex Kipman
Alex Kipman (born 1979) is a Brazilian engineer. He was the lead developer of the Microsoft HoloLens smartglasses and helped develop the Xbox Kinect. Biography Kipman was born in Curitiba in 1979. The son of a Brazilian diplomat, Kipman grew up around the world. When he was seven or eight, he learned how to program the Atari 2600. Later on he would go to Rochester Institute of Technology, RIT, graduating in 2001 with a degree in software engineering and joined Microsoft that same year, starting development on Microsoft's integrated development environment (Integrated Development Environment, IDE) Visual Studio. Starting 2005, he helped in the development of Microsoft Windows, until joining the Xbox department in 2008, where he oversaw the acquisition of the technology for the Xbox Kinect from an Israeli company, PrimeSense. Xbox is a video gaming brand created and owned by Microsoft. The brand consists of five video game consoles, as well as applications (games), streaming services, an online service by the name of Xbox network, and the development arm by the name of Xbox Game Studios. The brand was first introduced in the United States in November 2001, with the launch of the original Xbox console. The original device was the first video game console offered by an American company after the Atari Jaguar stopped sales in 1996. It reached over 24 million units sold by May 2006. ''Exploding Kittens'' is a casual dedicated deck card game designed by Matthew Inman of ''The Oatmeal'' webcomic, Elan Lee and Shane Small, and first published by ''The Oatmeal'' in 2015. Beginning as a Kickstarter project seeking US$10,000 in crowdfunding, it exceeded its goal in eight minutes. On January 27, 2015, after seven days, it passed 103,000 backers setting the record for the most backers in Kickstarter history. At completion on February 19, 2015, it had US$8,782,571 in pledges by 219,382 backers. The campaign ended as the fourth most-funded campaign on the crowdfunding site. The first play test of ''Exploding Kittens'' was recorded on YouTube by Smosh Games, who had the first deck. Elan Lee
Elan Lee is an American game designer, developer, and creator. He has designed games for the Xbox; helped create the world’s first Alternate Reality Games; and with Matthew Inman created the card game ''Exploding Kittens'', whose Kickstarter campaign was the most-backed of its day. He and Inman founded the Exploding Kittens company in 2015. Biography Lee began his career as a character designer at Industrial Light and Magic, where he worked on several movies, including the computer special effects for Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Rick Antonius Kittles (born in Sylvania, Georgia, Sylvania, Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States) is an American biologist specializing in human genetics and a Senior Vice President for Research at the Morehouse School of Medicine. He is of African-American ancestry, and achieved renown in the 1990s for his pioneering work in tracing the ancestry of African Americans via Genealogical DNA test, DNA testing. An organic light-emitting diode (OLED or organic LED), also known as organic electroluminescent (organic EL) diode, is a light-emitting diode (LED) in which the emissive electroluminescent layer is a film of organic compound that emits light in response to an electric current. Steven Van Slyke (born July 19, 1956) is an American chemist, best known for his co-invention of the Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) and his contributions to the commercial development of OLED displays. Van Slyke is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Kateeva, Inc. Prior to joining Kateeva, he held various positions at Eastman Kodak and was involved in all aspects of OLED Technology, from basic materials development to implementation of full-color OLED display manufacturing.
