Roberto Gatto is an Italian jazz drummer, born October 6, 1958 in Rome. He has performed with Lee Konitz, Chet Baker, Bob Berg, Tommy Flanagan, Joe Zawinul, and Joe Lovano. He has composed film music, is the leader of his own jazz group and a member of the ensemble of Pino Daniele, a Neapolitan singer. Grazia Di Michele (born 9 October 1955) is an Italian singer-songwriter. Life and career Born Maria Grazia Di Michele in Rome to parents from Abruzzo, at very young age, she founded with Chiara Scotti and Clelia Lamorgese "L'Ape di Vetro" ("The Glass Bee"), a politically inspired musical group which disbanded after a few years. She debuted as a solo singer at Folkstudio, a music venue in Rome, in 1977. In those years she also worked in a cultural club in Rome, the "Johann Sebastian Bar", and worked as a disc jockey in radio. Curtis Fuller
Curtis DuBois Fuller (December 15, 1932May 8, 2021) was an American jazz trombonist. He was a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and contributed to many classic jazz recordings. Early life Fuller was born in Detroit on December 15, 1932. His father had emigrated from Jamaica and worked in a Ford automobile factory, but he died from tuberculosis before his son was born. His mother, who had moved north from Atlanta, died when he was 9. He spent several years in an orphanage run by Jesuits. He developed a passion for jazz after one of the nuns there brought him to see Illinois Jacquet and his band perform, with J. J. Johnson on trombone. Fuller attended a public school in his hometown, together with Paul Chambers, Donald Byrd, Tommy Flanagan, Thad Jones, and Milt Jackson. Roberto Ciotti (20 February 1953 – 31 December 2013) was an Italian blues musician, composer and guitarist. Life and career Born in Rome, Ciotti began playing the guitar at the age of 12. From 1970 to 1972 he was a member of the jazz band Blue Morning, then he started a solo career as a bluesman, a composer and a professional guitarist, collaborating with Chet Baker, Francesco De Gregori and Edoardo Bennato, among others. Salvatore Bonafede (born August 4, 1962) is an Italian composer and pianist. Early life Son of jewellers, Bonafede was born in Palermo on 4 August 1962. He started playing the piano at the age of four and became interested in jazz thanks to his father, Antonino Bonafede, a self-taught jazz pianist and a follower of Erroll Garner.
