Robert John McCormick
Robert John McCormick (August 10, 1848 – October 13, 1919) was an Ontario farmer and political figure. He represented Lambton East in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1908 to 1914 as a Liberal member. He was born in County Armagh, Ireland, the son of Joseph McCormick who was of Scottish descent, and came to Warwick Township, Canada East in 1862. He became a brick maker and bought a brickyard there in 1877. In 1876, he married Elizabeth Smith. McCormick served on the council for Warwick, was reeve from 1891 to 1894 and warden for Lambton County in 1892. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1894. A Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) is an elected member of the Legislative Assembly of the Canadian province of Ontario. Lambton County, Ontario
Lambton County is a county in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. It is bordered on the north by Lake Huron, which is drained by the St. Clair River, the county's western border and part of the Canada-United States border. To the south is Lake Saint Clair and Chatham-Kent. Lambton County's northeastern border follows the Ausable River and Parkhill Creek north until it reaches Lake Huron at the beach community of Grand Bend. The county seat is in the Town of Plympton-Wyoming. The largest city in Lambton County is Sarnia, which is located at the source of the St. Clair River at Lake Huron. The two Blue Water Bridges cross the river at Sarnia, connecting it to Port Huron, Michigan. The bridges are one of the busiest border crossings between the two countries. Canada East
Canada East (french: links=no, Canada-Est) was the northeastern portion of the United Province of Canada. Lord Durham's Report investigating the causes of the Upper and Lower Canada Rebellions recommended merging those two colonies. The new colony, known as the Province of Canada, was created by the Act of Union 1840 passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom, having effect in 1841. For administrative purposes, the new Province was subdivided into Canada West and Canada East. Warwick, Ontario
Warwick is a rural township in Lambton County, Ontario, Canada, with a population (2016) of 3,692. Bisected by the Egremont Road that was surveyed to link London with the Lake Huron shoreline in 1832, the township began to attract settlers including those helped by charitable organizations, such as Lord Sheffield's Petworth settlers, and retired soldiers from the British Army. A village by the same name was surveyed within the township where Bear Creek crossed the Egremont. The larger village of Watford was established to the southeast of Warwick Village when the Great Western Railway was established in the 1850s. Watford became an incorporated village in 1873 while parts of Warwick were removed for municipal purposes when the villages of Forest and Arkona were incorporated in the 1870s. Hugh Montgomery (March 25, 1858 – January 10, 1926) was a Canadian farmer and political figure in Ontario. He represented Lambton East in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1905 to 1908 as a Conservative member. He was born in Plympton Township, Lambton County, Canada West, the son of Charteris Montgomery and Charlotte Brown who came to Lambton County from Ireland. He operated a threshing business and also raised horses and cattle. Montgomery married Effie J. Duncan in 1880. He served on the township council, serving as reeve from 1897 to 1903.
