Road Rage (1995 Video Game)
''Road Rage'' (known as Speed King NEO KOBE 2045/Speed King in Japan) is a 3D cyberpunk themed racing game by Konami released for arcades in 1995 and on the PlayStation in 1996/1997 (depending on the distribution region). While the arcade version was released worldwide, the PlayStation port was only released in Japan and Europe. The European PlayStation version of the game is considered obscure and very rare the same can be said for the arcade cabinets due to their elusive status. The game contains references to a large number of other Konami games ( Gradius, Parodius, Metal Gear, Snatcher, Frogger, etc.). The races themselves take place in the city of Neo Kobe (known from Konami's Snatcher), inspired by the movie Blade Runner. The gameplay is similar to the better-known futuristic racing series Wipeout. Frogger
is a 1981 arcade action game developed by Konami and manufactured by Sega. In North America, it was released by Sega/Gremlin. The object of the game is to direct a series of frogs to their homes by crossing a busy road and a hazardous river. ''Frogger'' was positively received as one of the greatest video games ever made and followed by several clones and sequels. By 2005, 20 million copies of its various home video game incarnations had been sold worldwide. It entered popular culture, including television and music. Gameplay The objective of the game is to guide a frog to each of the empty homes at the top of the screen. The game starts with three, five, or seven frogs, depending on the machine's settings. Road Fighter
is a racing arcade video game developed by Konami and released in 1984. It was the first racing game from Konami. The goal is to reach the finish line within the stages without running out of time, hitting other cars or running out of fuel (which is refilled by hitting a special type of car). The game spawned a spiritual successor, ''Konami GT'' (1986), and two sequels, ''Midnight Run: Road Fighter 2'' (1995) and ''Winding Heat'' (1996). A Japan-only sequel was also released 14 years later, ''Road Fighters'' (2010). Gameplay The first two levels contain 4 courses, ranging from grassy plains to an over water bridge to a seashore, mountains and finally a forest area. In the arcade version, 6 stages were contained. NeGcon
The , stylized as neGcon, is a motion-based video game controller manufactured in 1995 by Namco for the PlayStation. One of the first third-party peripherals for the system, the controller is connected by a swivel joint, allowing the player to twist the halves relative to each other. The controller also replaces the "symbol" buttons on the original PlayStation controller with two "A" and "B" buttons, as well as "I" and "II" buttons that allowed for analogue control. A black variant was released exclusively in Japan. Akira Yamaoka
is a Japanese composer and music producer. He is best known for composing music for several video games in the ''Silent Hill'' series by Konami, among other games. Yamaoka also worked as a producer on the series, as well as composing for the ''Silent Hill'' film and its sequel. Since 2010, he has been the sound director at Grasshopper Manufacture. Early life Yamaoka attended Tokyo Art College, where he studied product design and interior design. He originally planned to follow a career in design. Career Yamaoka joined Konami on September 21, 1993. He immediately began to work on the games '' Contra: Hard Corps'', '' Sparkster'', and '' Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2''.
