Rigshospitalet
Rigshospitalet (meaning ''The National'', ''State'' or ''Hospital of the Realm'', but not usually translated) is the largest public and teaching hospital in Copenhagen and the most highly specialised hospital in Denmark. The hospital's main building is a 16-storey functionalist highrise, one of the tallest structures in the central parts of the city. Rigshospitalet neighbours the Panum Building which houses the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. As a teaching hospital it is part of the framework organisation Copenhagen University Hospital. Name The Danish name is not usually translated to English. The prefix ''Rigs-'' is used in the names of some Danish state institutions, especially in a solemn or prestigious context or for authorities serving for the whole Danish Realm including Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Fælledparken
The park Fælledparken in Copenhagen, Denmark, was created 1906–1914 by landscape architect Edvard Glæsel in cooperation with the Copenhagen Municipality on the commons (Danish: ''fælled'') previously named ''Nørrefælled'' and ''Østerfælled''. Fælledparken is located in the eastern part of Copenhagen called Østerbro. The Kingdom (TV Miniseries)
''Riget'' ( English title: ''The Kingdom'') is a Danish absurdist supernatural horror miniseries trilogy created by Lars von Trier, co-written by von Trier with Niels Vørsel and co-directed by von Trier with Morten Arnfred. Set in the neurosurgical ward of Copenhagen's Rigshospitalet (, nicknamed "Riget", ), each episode of the show takes place over a single day, and follows the hospital's eccentric staff and patients as they encounter bizarre and sometimes supernatural phenomena. The series is notable for its wry humor, its muted sepia colour scheme, and the appearance of a chorus of dishwashers with Down syndrome, who discuss in intimate detail the strange occurrences in the hospital. The Capital Region of Denmark ( da, Region Hovedstaden, ) is the easternmost administrative region of Denmark. The Capital Region has 29 municipalities and a regional council consisting of 41 elected members. Martin Borch
Martin Borch (1 March 1852 – 8 February 1937) was a Danish architect. Biography Borch was born at Skerngaard near Skjern, Denmark. He was the son of Frederik Borch (1807–1868) and Johanne Frederikke Borch née Frausing (1809–1886). He attended Randers Latin School from 1863 to 1866 and C.V. Nielsen's drawing school from 1868 to 1869. From 1869 to 1877, he attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. From 1886 to 1916, Borch was a permanent architect for the Danish sugar manufacturing company, De Danske Spritfabrikker. As a royal building inspector, he received many commissions for the University of Copenhagen and Danmarks Nationalbank. From 1893 to 1899, he was an assistant at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. He received the Eckersberg Medal twice: in 1894 and in 1901. Frederiks Hospital
The royal Frederiks Hospital was Denmark's first hospital in the present-day meaning of the word. It was founded by king Frederik V and financed by the earnings from the Norwegian Postal Service. The buildings, situated in Bredgade in Copenhagen and currently housing the Danish Museum of Art & Design, were, along with the rest of Frederiksstaden, designed by Nicolai Eigtved and Lauritz de Thurah and built in 1752-1757. It opened on March 31, 1757 on the birthday of Frederick V. The hospital was run as an independent institution with the purpose of giving free care and cure to patients without means. About two thirds of the patients were treated free of charge. Danish Museum Of Art & Design
The Designmuseum Denmark () is a museum in Copenhagen for Danish and international design and crafts. It features works of famous Danish designers like Arne Jacobsen, Jacob Jensen and Kaare Klint, who was one of the two architects who remodeled the former Frederiks Hospital (built 1752–57) into a museum in the 1920s. The exhibition also features a variety of Chinese and German porcelain. The museum was known as the Danish Museum of Art & Design ( da, Kunstindustrimuseet) until 2011 and known as the Danish Museum of Decorative Art prior.
