Richard Limo
Richard Kipkemei Limo (born 18 November 1980) is a Kenyan athlete. He specializes in long distance track events. He won the 5000 m gold medal at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics. Limo was born in 1980 in Cheptigit village, Uasin Gishu District. After primary school he went to polytechnic and received a grade in electrical wiring in 1996. He did not start running, until 1997 when he joined a training camp located near his home. The next year he won the silver medal at the junior race of World Cross Country Championships. The same year he broke the world junior record at 3000 m, by running in 7:36.76 minutes, but missed the World Junior Championships. He won the Cross Zornotza in 1999 and the Trofeo Alasport cross country meeting in 2002. In 2001 he became world champion and was world's best performer of the year at 5000 metres with his time 12:56.72, which remains his personal record. Giro Media Blenio
The Giro Media Blenio is an annual road running event over 10 kilometres which takes place in April in the village of Dongio, Switzerland. It was created in honour of Markus Ryffel's silver medal in the 5000 metres at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. The event, held in the district of Blenio, is divided into four race types. The 10 km ''Grand Prix'' is an elite, open class men's race, while the ''Giro'' provides an alternate 10 km for amateur fun runners. Shorter races are offered for young runners in the ''Mini Giro'' section and a separate race is held for people wishing to complete the course by walking and Nordic walking. The main 10 km race was included on the Post-Cup series of Swiss races for its 25th anniversary in 2009. The 1998 Commonwealth Games ''(Malay: Sukan Komanwel 1998)'', officially known as the XVI Commonwealth Games ''(Malay: Sukan Komanwel ke-16)'', was a multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Felix Limo (born 22 August 1980) is a Kenyan former long-distance runner, who specialized in the marathon. Limo held the 15 Kilometres road running List of world records in athletics, world record from November 2001 to November 2010, where he lost the record to Leonard Patrick Komon, Leonard Komon. Limo set his record of 41:29 minutes in Nijmegen, the Netherlands when winning the Zevenheuvelenloop race. Deriba Merga of Ethiopia equalled the time in 2009. He won the Portugal Half Marathon in 2002. He debuted at the 2003 Amsterdam Marathon, finishing second timing 2:06.42, only three seconds slower than William Kipsang, who set a course record. Benjamin Limo
Benjamin Kipkoech Limo (born 23 August 1974 in Chepkongony, Uasin Gishu) is a Kenyan former middle- and long-distance runner. His races ranged distances from 1500 m to 10,000 m, but Limo mainly competed in 5000 metres, where he has won international medals. Limo went to Chebara and Lelboinet High Schools, but enlisted for the Kenyan Army in 1993, without completing his studies. He started full-time training in 1996 and was based at an army camp in Ngong, near capital Nairobi. He competed in his first race abroad at the 1998 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Marrakech, Morocco and finished fourth in the short race. He earned his first international medals in 1999. Limo won the 1999 World Cross Country Championships and placed second in the 5,000 m at the World Championships, less than one second behind winner Salah Hissou. Reims à Toutes Jambes
Reims à Toutes Jambes (''English: Reims at Full Speed'') is an annual road running event held in Reims, France in the month of October. First held in 1984, the competition comprises three main parts: a 42.195 km marathon, a 21.0975 km half marathon race, and a 10 km race. In addition to these, there are smaller competitions for disabled athletes and children. The marathon course is a figure-8 run twice and has hosted the French national championship race on three occasions (1997, 1999, 2000). Both the marathon and the half marathon attract elite level competitors. The marathon course records are held by David Kemboi (2:07:53 hours) and Alla Zhilyaeva (2:27:38 hours).
