Ricardo Brennand
Ricardo Coimbra de Almeida Brennand (27 May 1927 – 25 April 2020) was a Brazilian businessman, engineer, and art collector in the state of Pernambuco. In 2002 he founded the Ricardo Brennand Institute, which includes the world's largest private collection of Frans Post paintings, and was the 17th-highest-rated museum in the world according to TripAdvisor in 2014. Early life Brennand was born to Dulce Padilha Coimbra and Antônio Luiz de Almeida Brennand in Cabo de Santo Agostinho. He and his family relocated to Recife in 1930, where Brennand completed his secondary education at Colégio Marista from 1937 to 1942. During this time he learned fluent German and English, owing to his British ancestor Edward Brennand who immigrated to the Brazilian northeast in 1820. He was given a pocketknife by his father in his youth and began collecting weapons and paintings from then. Cabo De Santo Agostinho
Cabo de Santo Agostinho (English: Cape of St. Augustine) is a 448 square kilometer sized municipality located 35 kilometers south of the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. It is believed by some historians that Vicente Yáñez Pinzón had set anchor in a bay in Cabo de Santo Agostinho on January 26, 1500, however the Portuguese discovery of Brazil was by Pedro Álvares Cabral on April 21, 1500 is officially recognized instead. Cabo de Santo Agostinho was incorporated as a town in 1811. Cabo de Santo Agostinho has both an industrial section that is centered on the Suape port and many tropical beaches and nature reserves. The best-known beaches are Chalets, Paraíso, and Gaibu. Recanto do Domingos lies at the far south end of Pedra do Xareu beach. Geraldo Júlio
Geraldo Júlio de Mello Filho (born 19 March 1971) is a Brazilian politician and a former mayor of Recife, Pernambuco. He is a member of the Brazilian Socialist Party. Political career Geraldo Júlio de Mello Filho was born in Recife, he acted in the third term of Miguel Arraes's Government of Pernambuco and, in 2000, he was the director of planning of the Administration Secretary of the Prefecture of Recife. In Eduardo Campos' government, he assumed the office of Planning Secretary in 2007 and, four years later, he was State Secretary of Economic Development. Julio was a mayoral candidate in the 2012 municipal elections, being elected in the first round with 51,15% of the valid votes, and was re-elected in the 2016 elections.
