Rhys Gregory Tolhurst (born 14 June 1994) is an Australian singer-songwriter. Early life Rhys Tolhurst was born in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia on 14 June 1994. He was adopted when he was 6 weeks old and was raised in Cairns, Queensland where he spent his childhood. Rhys was an only child and attended Our Lady Help Of Christians Primary School and Saint Mary's Catholic College. He was then enrolled in Tertiary Education at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (formerly the Queensland Conservatorium of Music) is a selective, audition based music school located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and is part of Griffith University. History The Conservatorium was established by the state government and opened on 18 February 1957, with English composer William Lovelock as director. The school was originally located in South Brisbane Town Hall. ''Australia's Got Talent'' is an Australian reality television talent show. The show is based on the ''Got Talent'' series format that originated in the United Kingdom with Simon Cowell. The first six seasons aired on the Seven Network, from 2007 to 2012. In the first season the judges were Tom Burlinson, Red Symons and Dannii Minogue. The first season aired at 6:30pm on Sunday nights. After a successful run, the series was given a vote of confidence as Seven moved the show to a more competitive Tuesday night timeslot. The second season aired from 29 April 2008. Burlinson and Symons did not return for season four and were replaced by Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFadden.
