Rhydtalog
Rhydtalog is a small, isolated village in Flintshire, Wales. It lies in hilly country on the border with Denbighshire in the community of Treuddyn. The current name translates as "Talog's ford", but it was given as "Rhydhalawg" in 1699, and it seems likely that it was originally ''Rhydhalog'', "dirty ford", and later changed due to the old name's negative associations.Davies, E. River Cegidog
The River Cegidog () is a river in north-east Wales. It flows mainly through Flintshire but towards the end of its course it forms the border between Flintshire and Wrexham County Borough. Its source lies in the hills of southernmost Flintshire to the east of Rhydtalog village. It flows in a roughly north-easterly direction before turning south-east through the villages of Llanfynydd and Ffrith where the Nant-y-Ffrith stream flows into it. Treuddyn
Treuddyn is a village, community and electoral ward in Flintshire, Wales, located just off the A5104 road, around 4 miles south-east of Mold and 3 miles north-west of Caergwrle. The community includes the nearby village of Coed Talon, to the east, and Rhydtalog, to the south-west on the Denbighshire border. There are two primary schools: Ysgol Terrig, which is a Welsh medium school and Ysgol Parc y Llan, which is an English medium school. The closest secondary schools are Ysgol Maes Garmon (Welsh) and Alun School (English) in Mold, 4.5 miles away. There is also a Post Office and shop. Treuddyn has its own church, St Mary's, and there are also two active chapels in the village. A third chapel, that of the Baptist denomination, has closed. There are many Bronze Age cairns in the area. It was an industrial area during the 19th and 20th centuries, with mining of coal, iron and lead. Clwyd
Clwyd () is a preserved county of Wales, situated in the north-east corner of the country; it is named after the River Clwyd, which runs through the area. To the north lies the Irish Sea, with the English ceremonial counties of Cheshire to the east and Shropshire to the south-east. Powys and Gwynedd lie to the south and west respectively. Clwyd also shares a maritime boundary with Merseyside along the River Dee. Alyn and Deeside ( cy, Alun a Glannau Dyfrdwy) is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (at Westminster). Denbighshire
Denbighshire ( ; cy, Sir Ddinbych; ) is a county in the north-east of Wales. Its borders differ from the historic county of the same name. The River Terrig ( cy, Afon Terrig) is a small river in north-east Wales. Graianrhyd
Graianrhyd, also spelt ''Graeanrhyd'', is a small, scattered village in the community of Llanarmon-yn-Iâl, Denbighshire, Wales, lying in hilly limestone country around to the east of Llanarmon-yn-Iâl village, and just to the south of Eryrys. The name is likely derived from the Welsh ''graean'', "gravel", and ''rhyd'', "ford": there is still a ford across the River Terrig on a minor road east of the village. There are several limestone and silicate quarries in the immediate area, which is on the borders of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; the Clwydian Way footpath runs nearby. Liver Bird
The liver bird is a mythical creature which is the symbol of the English city of Liverpool. It is normally represented as a cormorant, and appears as such on the city's arms, in which it bears a branch of laver seaweed in its beak as a further pun on the name "Liverpool". History King John founded the borough of Liverpool by royal charter in 1207. The borough's second charter, granted by Henry III in 1229, gave the townspeople the right to form a guild with the privileges this came with, including the right to use a common seal.
