Republican Action (Cuba)
Republican Action ( es, Accíon Republicana) was a short-lived Peruvian conservative parliamentary caucus. Led by former Peruvians for Change congressman Pedro Olaechea, the caucus was mainly composed of former members of Popular Force. History On December 19, 2018, President of Congress Daniel Salaverry recognized the formation of new parliamentary caucuses, starting by two groups made up of dissident and non-grouped congressmen: the Liberal Bench and Cambio 21 under the protection of the Constitutional Court of Peru, which defined that "parliamentarians renouncing their political groupings for duly substantiated differences of conscience may form new benches, move on to other parliamentary groups, or form mixed caucus,” leaving without effect an already declared unconstitutional bill which did not allow the creation or formation of new benches by dissident or non-grouped congressmen. Pedro Olaechea
Pedro Carlos Olaechea Álvarez-Calderón (born 6 January 1954) is a Peruvian economist, vintner businessman and politician, who is the former President of the Congress of the Republic of Peru. Olaechea had served in Congress from 2016 to 2019, elected for the Peruvians for Change, representing the constituency of Lima. During the presidency of Pedro Pablo Kuczynski from 2017 to 2018, he served as Minister of Production. In the aftermath of the 2019 Peruvian constitutional crisis (and in his position of last President of Congress), Olaechea served as President of the Congressional Permanent Assembly until 16 March 2020, the date in which the Congress-elect was sworn in. Peruvians ( es, peruanos) are the citizens of Peru. There were Andean and coastal ancient civilizations like Caral, which inhabited what is now Peruvian territory for several millennia before the Spanish conquest in the 16th century; Peruvian population decreased from an estimated 5–9 million in the 1520s to around 600,000 in 1620 mainly because of infectious diseases carried by the Spanish. Spaniards and Africans arrived in large numbers in 1532 under colonial rule, mixing widely with each other and with Native Peruvians. During the Republic, there has been a gradual immigration of European people (especially from Spain and Italy, and in a less extent from Germany, France, Croatia, and the British Isles). Popular Force
People's Force ( es, Fuerza Popular, FP), known as Force 2011 ( es, Fuerza 2011, links=no) until 2012, is a right-wing populist and Fujimorist political party in Peru. The party is led by Keiko Fujimori, former congresswoman and daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori. She ran unsuccessfully for the presidency in the 2011, 2016 and 2021 presidential elections, all losing by a narrow margin. History People's Force was formed in 2010 by the merger of the Alliance for the Future coalition, formed in 2005 through the union of the Cambio 90 and New Majority parties, which were created during the government of Alberto Fujimori. Daniel Enrique Salaverry Villa (born 7 August 1972) is a Peruvian architect, businessman and politician. Between 2016 and 2019, he served in Congress representing the Department of La Libertad. Elected to Congress under the Fujimorist Popular Force party, he was the party's spokesperson for a year, and was President of the Congress from 2018 to 2019. He ran as a candidate for the presidency of Peru for the We Are Peru party in the 2021 general elections. Salaverry unsuccessfully ran for Mayor of the Province of Trujillo twice. The first time, he ran in 2010 with the Peruvian Aprista Party, and the second with the Popular Force. Liberal Bench ( es, Bancada Liberal) was a Peruvian parliamentary caucus formed by Francesco Petrozzi during the 2016–2019 term of the Peruvian Congress. Change 21 ( es, Cambio 21) was a parliamentary group for the congressional term of 2016 to 2021 in the Congress of Peru. The group was introduced on 20 March 2018, led by then-congressman Kenji Fujimori, and was formally recognized on 19 December of the same year by the President of Congress Daniel Salaverry.
