René Munk Thalund
René Munk Thalund (born 20 November 1971) is the keyboard player in the Danish band Nephew. In addition to his participation in Nephew, he has worked in the electronic genre. In the '90s, he worked with Carsten Heller and Jesper Birk to release electronic music under the name Shanks.dk. The trio were signed under the influential label of R&S Records in Belgium. Thalund was behind a remix of one of Nephew's own songs, creating the Nephew Nightlife Remix of Police Bells & Church Sirens, as well as "Allein Alene", Nephew's remix of "Allein Allein" by German band Polarkreis 18. and Nephew's remix of Bomb The Basss Time Falls Apart Archived aGhostarchiveand thWayback Machine In addition, he mixed songs for a number of Nephew's afterparties from autumn 2009 to spring 2010. Polarkreis 18 was a German rock music, rock band from Dresden, Saxony. The bandmembers met at school, where they formed the Jack of all Trades ensemble in 1998. In 2004, they renamed their band ''Polarkreis 18''. Its musical style can be described as rock music, rock, synth-pop and Electronic dance music, indietronic. Their albums include ''Polarkreis 18'' and more recently ''The Colour of Snow''. Gangway is a Danish band, originally active from 1982 to 1998 and again since 2017. Gangway consisted of Allan Jensen (lead singer), Henrik Balling (guitar), Torben Johansen (of Escape Artists, keyboards), and four different drummers, Jan Christensen (1982–84), Gorm Ravn-Jonsen (1984–89), Cai Bojsen-Møller (1991–94), and Jeppe Moesgaard (1996–98). Original career Their first three albums had a Beatles (and sometimes Smiths-esque) guitar pop sound, with a distinct new wave twist, but later on, particularly on ''The Quiet Boy Ate the Whole Cake'', their influences were more on synthpop, such as that of the Pet Shop Boys.
