Rentis Railway Station
Rentis railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Ρέντης, Sidirodromikos stathmos Rentis) is a station on the Piraeus–Platy railway line in Agios Ioannis Rentis, a suburban town in the Piraeus regional unit. Originally opened on 30 June 1884 it was rebuilt to serve the Athens Suburban Railway lines when this section came into operation in June 2007. It owes its name to the area of Agios Ioannis Rentis, shortened to just Rentis. History The Station opened in its original form on 30 June 1884 on what was the Piraeus, Athens and Peloponnese line (or SPAP) build to connect Piraeus and Athens. In the early 20th Century, a large freight depot was built alongside the station, and was the main freight base of the Greek railways. Hellenic State Railways or SEK ( el, Σιδηρόδρομοι Ελληνικού Κράτους, ''Sidirodromi Ellinikou Kratous''; Σ.Ε.Κ.) was a Greek public sector entity (legal person of public law, el, Ν.Π.Δ.Δ.) which was established in 1920 and operated most Greek railway lines until 1970. Hellenic Railways Organization
The Hellenic Railways Organisation or OSE ( el, Οργανισμός Σιδηροδρόμων Ελλάδος, italic=yes or el, Ο.Σ.Ε.) is the Greek national railway company which owns, maintains and operates all railway infrastructure in Greece with the exception of Athens Metro, Athens' rapid transit lines. Tavros Railway Station
Tavros railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Ταύρου, Sidirodromikos stathmos Tauros) is a station on the Piraeus–Platy railway line in Tavros, a suburb in the southwestern part of the Athens, South Athens. It opened on 1 October 2014 to serve Athens Suburban Railway lines to/from Piraeus to Kiato and Athens Airport. History The station opened 1 October 2014 by Minister of Transport, Michalis Chrisochoidis. as part of the upgrades and renovation to the line, which also involved electrification of the line. Initially when the station opened, it operated without the use of lifts (expected to come into operateon in early 2015). The station was not foreseen in the initial transport study proposal "Renovation of the railway line and construction of electric drive - signaling - remote control in the section Piraeus - Athens - Three Bridges", as the contract 994/2005 was called.
