Rentis Railway Station
Rentis railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Ρέντης, Sidirodromikos stathmos Rentis) is a station on the Piraeus–Platy railway line in Agios Ioannis Rentis, a suburban town in the Piraeus regional unit. Originally opened on 30 June 1884 it was rebuilt to serve the Athens Suburban Railway lines when this section came into operation in June 2007. It owes its name to the area of Agios Ioannis Rentis, shortened to just Rentis. History The Station opened in its original form on 30 June 1884 on what was the Piraeus, Athens and Peloponnese line (or SPAP) build to connect Piraeus and Athens. In the early 20th Century, a large freight depot was built alongside the station, and was the main freight base of the Greek railways. The Hellenic Railways Organisation or OSE ( el, Οργανισμός Σιδηροδρόμων Ελλάδος, italic=yes or el, Ο.Σ.Ε.) is the Greek national railway company which owns, maintains and operates all railway infrastructure in Greece with the exception of Athens Metro, Athens' rapid transit lines. Tavros Railway Station
Tavros railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Ταύρου, Sidirodromikos stathmos Tauros) is a station on the Piraeus–Platy railway line in Tavros, a suburb in the southwestern part of the Athens, South Athens. It opened on 1 October 2014 to serve Athens Suburban Railway lines to/from Piraeus to Kiato and Athens Airport. The Athens Suburban Railway, ( el, Προαστιακός Αθήνας, Proastiakós Athínas) is a commuter rail service that connects the city of Athens with its metropolitan area and other regions beyond Attica, including Corinthia, Boeotia, Euboea and Achaea. Line A1 (Athens Suburban Railway)
Line A1 is a Athens Suburban Railway (Proastiakos) line in Athens, Greece, managed by Hellenic Train. The service connects Piraeus with the Airport. The line shares a part of its course with lines A2 and A4 as well as Metro line 3, but also with line A3 at Athens. The first Suburban line was inaugurated on 30 July 2004, using 17 OSE Class 560 DMUs between Larissa Station (Now Athens) and the Airport. A dot-matrix display is a low cost electronic digital display device that displays information on machines such as clocks, watches, calculators, and many other devices requiring a simple alphanumeric (and/or graphic) display device of limited resolution. The display consists of a dot matrix of lights or mechanical indicators arranged in a rectangular configuration (other shapes are also possible, although not common) such that by switching on or off selected lights, text or graphics can be displayed. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks.
