Renegade Software
Renegade Software was a UK-based games publisher, founded in 1991 by the Bitmap Brothers. Initially, the Bitmap Brothers used the new label to publish their own games, after they had become dissatisfied with the practices of publishing companies (their previous games were published by Mirrorsoft). Their stated goal was to give game developers more artistic freedom and more recognition. One of the first games released by Renegade Software was Magic Pockets, for which they had struck a deal with music publisher Rhythm King to include a Betty Boo song in the game. Later Renegade also published games by other developers and went on as one of the successful independent publishers of its time, until it was acquired by WarnerMedia, Time Warner in 1995 to become "Warner Interactive Entertainment Ltd", still publishing under the Renegade label. before being merged with the European arm of Time Warner Interactive in the same year, rebranding as Warner Interactive Europe. Sensible Soccer Series
''Sensible Soccer'', often called ''Sensi'', is an association football video game series which was highly popular in the early 1990s and which still retains a cult following. It was developed by Sensible Software and first released for Amiga and Atari ST computers in 1992 as well as for the PC. The series was created by Jon Hare and Chris Yates, as a successor to their previous football game ''MicroProse Soccer'' (1988), which in turn was inspired by the arcade video game '' Tehkan World Cup'' (1985). ''Z'' is a 1996 real-time strategy computer game by The Bitmap Brothers. It is about two armies of robots (red and blue) battling to conquer different planets. A sequel, '' Z: Steel Soldiers'', was published in 2001. Plot The game opens with Commander Zod shooting the Bitmap Brothers Logo off the screen. Meanwhile, a Supply Ship is adrift in space. Its occupants, two robots named Brad and Allan, wake up to the radio buzzer. The two find two new messages from Commander Zod. The first shows Zod telling about his delivery, one hour overdue; the second shows him threatening to "kick their red butts" if he finds out about them slacking off. Allan and Brad just resume their mission. ''The Chaos Engine 2'' is a top-down shooter video game, and sequel to ''The Chaos Engine'', released for the Amiga in 1996 and developed by The Bitmap Brothers. A Sega Mega Drive version was planned but never released. Plot During the original game, the protagonists succeed in destroying the Chaos Engine, a time-travel device. Its creator, Baron Fortesque, appears to have been defeated. However, in ''The Chaos Engine 2'', it transpires that he and the protagonists are all trapped within a temporal singularity created by the destruction of the Chaos Engine device. ''Elfmania'' is a 2D fighting game developed by Terramarque and released by Renegade Software in 1994 for the Amiga. Gameplay The gameplay is a standard fighting game, but Elfmania does not have special moves triggered by various button combinations, as is typical in most other games of this type. ''Mega Turrican'' is a shooter game, developed by Factor 5 in 1993 and marketed by Data East in 1994. This game of the ''Turrican'' series was initially designed for the Mega Drive/Genesis, and later followed by an Amiga port converted by Kaiko and Neon Studios under the title of ''Turrican 3: Payment Day''.
