Trent Wotherspoon
Trent Wotherspoon is a Canadian politician and former interim leader of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP). He was elected to represent the electoral district of Regina Rosemont in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2007 election, and was re-elected in the 2011 election, and 2016 election. Wotherspoon was a candidate for the party's leadership in 2013. In 2016, the NDP caucus elected Wotherspoon to serve as Leader of the Opposition following the defeat of Cam Broten in the 2016 provincial election and the party's provincial council elected him interim leader. Early life Wotherspoon was born in Regina where he lives with his wife Stephanie, a school teacher. 22nd Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The 22nd Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan was elected in the 1991 Saskatchewan election. It was controlled by the New Democratic Party under Premier Roy Romanow. With 66 representatives elected, the 22nd Assembly had the largest number of MLAs in Saskatchewan history. In the fall of 1992 former premier Grant Devine resigned as leader of the opposition Progressive Conservative party. The 29th Saskatchewan Legislature was elected at the 2020 Saskatchewan general election. Notably, this is the first Saskatchewan Legislature in which some government members will sit on the Speaker's left. Joanne Crofford
Joanne Sharon Crofford (born October 29, 1947) is a former MLA for Regina Rosemont, Saskatchewan, and a member of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party. She was born Joanne Sharon Elkin in Regina, the daughter of Hubert Elkin and Elsie Lillian Kozen. Crofford has lived and worked throughout Saskatchewan, including the North. She graduated from the University of Regina, majoring in Social Studies and Communications. Crofford's 12 years of work in La Ronge included Assistant Director of Personnel with the Department of Northern Saskatchewan, representative to the provincial Environment Impact Assessment Secretariat and Business Manager of the Kikinahk Indian and Métis Friendship Centre.
