The 26th Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan was elected in the 2007 Saskatchewan election, and was sworn in on November 21, 2007. It sat until May 19, 2011. Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. Bill Boyd (Canadian Politician)
Bill Boyd (born August 22, 1956) is a former provincial level politician from Saskatchewan, Canada. He served as a member of the Saskatchewan Legislature from 1991 to 2002 and returned to office in the 2007 Saskatchewan general election, serving until his resignation in 2017. Boyd was first elected as the member representing the Kindersley electoral district in the 1991 Saskatchewan general election. He defeated two other candidates in a hotly contested race to win his district. Boyd became leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan on November 21, 1994. He led the party into the 1995 Saskatchewan general election. The party only won five seats after major scandals from the Progressive Conservative government of Grant Devine had come to light. Michael Chisholm
Michael Chisholm (born August 26, 1948) is a Canadian provincial politician. He was a Saskatchewan Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 2003 to 2011, and is also a member of the federal Conservative Party of Canada. In 2003 he was elected for the newly created constituency of Cut Knife-Turtleford, and was re-elected in 2007. He is the vice-chair of the government's public-accounts committee. Saskatoon Silver Springs was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. The district included the neighbourhoods of Silverspring, Forest Grove, Evergreen, Willowgrove, Erindale and Arbor Creek. Ken Cheveldayoff
Ken Cheveldayoff (born April 1, 1965) is a Canadian provincial politician. He is the Saskatchewan Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan for the constituency of Saskatoon Willowgrove. In 2018 he was a candidate for the leadership of the Saskatchewan Party. Early life and education Cheveldayoff holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics and Political Science (1988) and a Masters of Business Administration (1996). He was a parliamentary page in the House of Commons and won the Queen Elizabeth II scholarship for excellence in Parliamentary Studies. Saskatoon Riversdale is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. It was held by two Premiers of Saskatchewan from 1991 to 2007 – Roy Romanow and Lorne Calvert. It is currently represented by Marv Friesen of the Saskatchewan Party. The constituency was one of five created for the city of Saskatoon when the former multi-member constituency of Saskatoon City was abolished prior to the 1967 general election. Lorne Calvert
Lorne Albert Calvert (born December 24, 1952) was the 13th premier of Saskatchewan, from 2001 to 2007. Calvert served as leader of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party from 2001 to June 6, 2009, when he was succeeded by Dwain Lingenfelter. Early life and career Calvert was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In 1975, Calvert married Betty Sluzalo of Perdue, Saskatchewan. Arm River-Watrous
Arm River-Watrous was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. This constituency was located in south central Saskatchewan. It was dissolved as part of an election boundary redraw in 2013 primarily into Arm River. Grain farming and cattle ranching are the major economic activities of the area. Wynyard is home to the larger industries in this constituency. They include: Sunnyland Poultry Products, Big Quill Resources (Canada's largest manufacturer of potassium sulphate), and Cargill.
