Regina Airport Authority
The Regina Airport Authority is the public, not-for-profit agency that oversees the management of the Regina International Airport, which serves the Canadian city of Regina, and, indeed, the entire southern part of the province of Saskatchewan, a region that contains about 495,000 people. The authority owes its existence to a policy begun in the 1990s under the Liberal federal government of turning over the operation of major Canadian airports to locally based bodies—though Ottawa retains ownership of the airports. The Reginas Airport Authority's current board chairman is Sean McEchern. Regina () is the capital city of the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The city is the second-largest in the province, after Saskatoon, and is a commercial centre for southern Saskatchewan. Regina International Airport
Regina International Airport is an international airport located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, located south-west and west-southwest of the city centre. It is run by the Regina Airport Authority. It was, in 2018, the 15th busiest airport in Canada. The airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). CBSA officers at this airport can handle aircraft with no more than 120 passengers. However, they can handle up to 250 if the aircraft is unloaded in stages. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA; french: Autorité aéroportuaire du Grand Toronto) operates Toronto Pearson International Airport in Mississauga, Ontario, west of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Toronto Pearson is Canada's largest airport facility with a traffic of 49.5 million passengers in 2018. The authority's headquarters are on the airport grounds, at 6301 Silver Dart Drive. The GTAA was formed in 1996 by the Government of Canada, which was divesting its direct control of airports across the country to similar operating agencies. The Toronto Port Authority (TPA), doing business as PortsToronto (PT), is a port authority that is responsible for the management of the Port of Toronto, including the International Marine Passenger Terminal, and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. It was established under the ''Canada Marine Act'' as a government business enterprise that is self-funded, with directors appointed by three levels of government – the Government of Canada (through the Minister of Transport), the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto. The Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) is a Canadian airport authority charged with operating Halifax Stanfield International Airport on behalf of Transport Canada. The HIAA was established in November 1995 in advance of changes to the operation of Canadian airports by the federal government. The federal government through its Department of Transport had owned and operated the airport since its construction in 1960, however by the 1990s it was examining ways to reduce the payroll and scope of Transport Canada's activities. Beginning with changes to the Canada Transportation Act in 1995, Transport Canada began to divest the operation of sea ports and airports to non-profit authorities.
