Club de Regatas Lima (CRL) (Spanish for ''Lima Regatta Club'') is a sports club in Lima, Peru, one of the oldest sport clubs in South America and the biggest sports club in Peru. History The Club de Regatas Lima was founded in 1875 as a rowing club. Boat racing is a sport in which boats, or other types of watercraft, race on water. Rowing, sometimes called crew in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars are attached to the boat using oarlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. The Liga Nacional Superior de Voleibol (Spanish for ''Senior National Volleyball League'') is the top level Peruvian volleyball competition and it is organized by the Peruvian Volleyball Confederation.
