Redimus
''Redimus'' (Latin for ''We Return'') is the fourth studio album by British symphonic black metal band Hecate Enthroned. It was released on 3 May 2004 by Blackend Records. It was their last album to be released by Blackend, as well as their last one to feature Dean Seddon on vocals and Rob Kendrick on drums. It was also their first release to feature Pete White on the keyboards. ''Redimus'' continues along the sound originally heard on '' Kings of Chaos'', with death metal-style guitars, tempos and growls mixed with symphonic black metal keyboards, melodies and grim screaming. There are also elements of progressive tendencies, as evidenced in the title track and "Morbeea", an acoustic track heavily influenced by Spanish flamenco music. Jason Mendonça of Akercocke fame guest-stars on the track "An Eternal Belief". The drawing used as the album's cover is "Saint Michael Fighting the Dragon", an engraving by Albrecht Dürer. Hecate Enthroned
Hecate Enthroned are an English symphonic black metal band initially founded with members from both Wales and England, but are now primarily based around Cheshire, England. The band formed in 1993 as a blackened death metal act under the name Amethyst, changing their name to Daemonum later on. By 1995 the band had adopted the name Hecate Enthroned and a symphonic black metal style. The band's name alludes to the Ancient Greek goddess of magic and necromancy, Hecate. Virulent Rapture
''Virulent Rapture'' is the fifth studio album by United Kingdom, British band Hecate Enthroned, and their first album of new material since 2004's ''Redimus''. It was released on 25 November 2013 via Crank Music Group, being their first album to be so, as well as their only release with vocalist Elliot Beaver and first with drummer Gareth Hardy on the line-up, who replaced long-time vocalist and drummer Dean Seddon and Robert Kendrick, respectively (both were fired in 2012). Background The album was initially announced on a 21 January 2013 interview with webzine RoarRock. The band announced on their official Twitter on 8 July 2013 that the new album was finished, "aside from some mixing and mastering issues", and that they were "looking at a self-release in the next few months". Kings Of Chaos (album)
''Kings of Chaos'' is the third studio album by British symphonic black metal band Hecate Enthroned. It was released in 1999 via Blackend Records, and it was the band's first album to feature Dean Seddon as vocalist (who replaced the former one, Jon Kennedy, who was fired in the same year) and keyboardist Darren "Daz" Bishop (who replaced Michael Snell). With this album, Hecate Enthroned greatly toned down their previous symphonic black metal sonority and aesthetics, dropped the corpse paint used on the previous few albums and adopted a style more reminiscent of melodic blackened death metal, albeit still retaining the keyboards and dark black metal melodies of the older albums. Akercocke are an English extreme metal band from London, formed in 1997 by Jason Mendonça and David Gray. The band also features Paul Scanlan and Nathanael Underwood. History Akercocke's first album, ''Rape of the Bastard Nazarene'', was self-released by the band in 1999. Progressive metal (sometimes shortened to prog metal) is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter.
