Red Lions Football Club is a Malawian football (soccer) club based in Zomba, Southern Region and currently playing in the TNM Super League, the top division of Malawian football. History The Red Lions FC is a military football club from Zomba, the old capital of Malawi. In the past the club was predominantly made of soldiers. Most of their players were spotted from smaller military teams back in the days in the name of Moyale Barracks FC, Kamuzu Barracks FC and the Kamuzu Military College now MAFCO. In recent years all these teams have been promoted to play in the TNM Super League, the highest football league in the country, thus the ''Red Lions Football Club'' have to acquire talent from elsewhere. Balaka Township, Malawi
Balaka is a township in Southern Region, Malawi and headquarters for the Balaka District. The township was formerly a '' boma'' of Machinga District, before the Balaka District was created in 1998. A growing commercial centre on the road from Zomba to Lilongwe, as well as on a Blantyre– Salima rail route. The immediate trading centres that surround Balaka are Ntcheu, Phalula, Liwonde and Ulongwe. The town is situated roughly 130 kilometres North of Blantyre and about 200 kilometres South of Lilongwe. The town's population is composed of people of multiple ethnicities. However, the Yaos and Ngoni's make up the biggest percentage. The 2022 Super League of Malawi (known as the TNM Super League for sponsorship reasons) was the 36th season of the Super League of Malawi, the top professional league for association football clubs in Malawi since its establishment in 1986. The season started on 19 March 2022 and was ended on 19 November 2022. Nyasa Big Bullets are the defending champions. Zomba, Malawi
Zomba is a city in southern Malawi, in the Shire Highlands. It is the former capital city of Malawi. The Malawi national football team, nicknamed ''The Flames'', represents Malawi in international football and is controlled by the Football Association of Malawi. Before 1966, they were known as the Nyasaland national football team. They have qualified for three Africa Cup of Nations, in 1984, 2010 and 2021. They also won the CECAFA Cup in 1978, 1979 and 1988.
