Realization (Johnny Rivers Album)
''Realization'' is the fifth studio album by the American musician Johnny Rivers, released in 1968. Rivers wrote two of the songs and co-wrote a third. The remaining seven are covers of popular songs from the mid-1960s. Reception The album reached No. 5 and included the No. 14 pop chart single " Summer Rain", written by James Hendricks, a former member of the Mugwumps. The album reflected some of the psychedelic influences of the time, like the song "Hey Joe" with a two-minute introduction and also marked a change in Rivers' musical direction with more introspective songs such as "Look to Your Soul" and "Going Back to Big Sur". Track listing Side one # "Hey Joe" ( Billy Roberts) – 4:49 # "Look to Your Soul" ( James Hendricks) – 3:11 # "The Way We Live" (Johnny Rivers) – 3:08 # " Summer Rain" (James Hendricks) – 3:52 # "A Whiter Shade of Pale" (Keith Reid/Gary Brooker) – 5:36 Side two # "Brother, Where Are You" ( Oscar Brown, Jr.) – 3:36 # "Something Strange" ...

Realization (climb)
''Realization'', also called ''Biographie'', is a circa sport climbing route on an overhang (climbing), overhanging limestone cliff on the southern face of Céüse mountain, near Gap, Hautes-Alpes, Gap and Sigoyer, Hautes-Alpes, Sigoyer, in France. After it was first climbed in 2001 by American climber Chris Sharma, it became the List of first ascents (sport climbing)#Redpointed by men, first rock climb in the world to have a consensus grade of . It is considered an history of rock climbing#2000s, historic and important route in rock climbing, and one of the most attempted climbs at its grade. History In 1989, French climber Jean-Christophe Lafaille bolted the entire circa 35 metre Pitch (climbing), pitch, and named it ''Biographie'' (he was not able to climb it). ''Biographie'' remained a long-standing open project, and in 1996, French climber freed the lower half of the route, added an anchor at his high-point and graded it at . Petit estimated that the remaining unclimbed ...

Realization (figured Bass)
Realization is the art of creating music, typically an accompaniment, from a figured bass, whether by improvisation in real time, or as a detained exercise in writing. It is most commonly associated with Baroque music. Competent performers of the era were expected to realize a stylistically appropriate accompaniment from a mere harmonic sketch, called a figured bass, and to do it at sight. A system that allowed much flexibility, it became a lost art, but was revived in the 20th century by scholar-performers. To realize a figured bass by writing down the actual notes to be played was (and is) a traditional exercise for students learning harmony and composition, and is used by music editors to make performing editions. It was rare for established composers of the Baroque era to write down realizations. With few exceptions, those that have survived are short teaching demonstrations, or else student exercises. From this exiguous material must present-day scholars seek to recove ...

Realization (finance)
In accounting, the revenue recognition principle states that revenues are earned and recognized when they are realized or realizable, no matter when cash is received. It is a cornerstone of accrual accounting together with the matching principle. Together, they determine the accounting period in which revenues and expenses are recognized. In contrast, the Cash method of accounting, cash accounting recognizes revenues when cash is received, no matter when goods or services are sold. Cash can be received in an earlier or later period than when obligations are met, resulting in the following two types of accounts: * Accrued revenue: Revenue is recognized before cash is received. * Deferred revenue: Revenue is recognized when cash is received. Rules Under the revenue recognition principle, when a company received an advance payment, it is not recognized as revenue but as liability (accounting), liabilities in the form of deferred income (which requires the company to perform cert ...

Realization (linguistics)
In linguistics, realization is the process by which some kind of surface representation is derived from its underlying representation; that is, the way in which some abstract object of linguistic analysis comes to be produced in actual language. Phonemes are often said to be ''realized'' by speech sounds. The different sounds that can realize a particular phoneme are called its allophones. Realization is also a subtask of natural language generation, which involves creating an actual text in a human language (English, French, etc.) from a syntactic representation. There are a number of software packages available for realization, most of which have been developed by academic research groups in NLG. The remainder of this article concerns realization of this kind. Example For example, the following Java code causes the simplenlg systeA Gatt and E Reiter (2009). SimpleNLG: A realisation engine for practical applications. ''Proceedings of ENLG09'/ref> to print out the text ''The ...

Realization (metrology)
In metrology, the realisation of a unit of measure is the conversion of its definition into reality. An example of the concept of realisation, is the unit of length, the meter. The metre was originally defined in 1791 as one ten-millionth of the distance from the equator to the North Pole along a great circle. To actually measure a length, this definition must be converted into a physical tool, which can be used to complete the measurement. The meter stick is the realisation of the meter. The International Bureau of Weights and Measures maintains the techniques for realisation of the base units in the International System of Units (SI), all seven of which are defined in terms of natural physical constants, rather than human artefacts such as the standard kilogram. Following the 2019 revision of the SI all fundamental units of metrology are now defined in terms of natural physical constants, rather than human artefacts. The realization of these units is also defined by a publis ...

Realization (probability)
In probability and statistics, a realization, observation, or observed value, of a random variable is the value that is actually observed (what actually happened). The random variable itself is the process dictating how the observation comes about. Statistical quantities computed from realizations without deploying a statistical model are often called "empirical", as in empirical distribution function or empirical probability. Conventionally, to avoid confusion, upper case letters denote random variables; the corresponding lower case letters denote their realizations. Formal definition In more formal probability theory, a random variable is a function ''X'' defined from a sample space Ω to a measurable space called the state space. If an element in Ω is mapped to an element in state space by ''X'', then that element in state space is a realization. Elements of the sample space can be thought of as all the different possibilities that ''could'' happen; while a re ...

Realization (systems)
In systems theory, a realization of a state space model is an implementation of a given input-output behavior. That is, given an input-output relationship, a realization is a quadruple of ( time-varying) matrices (t),B(t),C(t),D(t)/math> such that : \dot(t) = A(t) \mathbf(t) + B(t) \mathbf(t) : \mathbf(t) = C(t) \mathbf(t) + D(t) \mathbf(t) with (u(t),y(t)) describing the input and output of the system at time t. LTI System For a linear time-invariant system specified by a transfer matrix, H(s) , a realization is any quadruple of matrices (A,B,C,D) such that H(s) = C(sI-A)^B+D. Canonical realizations Any given transfer function which is strictly proper can easily be transferred into state-space by the following approach (this example is for a 4-dimensional, single-input, single-output system)): Given a transfer function, expand it to reveal all coefficients in both the numerator and denominator. This should result in the following form: : H(s) = \frac. The coefficients ...

Realization (tax)
Realization, for U.S. Federal income tax purposes, is a requirement in determining what must be included as income subject to taxation. It should not be confused with the separate concept of Recognition (tax). Income Realization is a trigger for calculating income taxation. It is one of the three principles for defining income under the seminal case in this area of tax law, '' Commissioner v. Glenshaw Glass Co.'' In that case, the Supreme Court interpreted a statute under the tax code and determined that income generally means "undeniable accessions to wealth, clearly realized, and over which the taxpayers have complete dominion." It is also discussed in '' Helvering v. Bruun,'' in which the court explained that "the realization of gain need not be in cash derived from the sale of an asset. Gain may occur as a result of exchange of property, payment of the taxpayer's indebtedness, relief from a liability, or other profit realized from the completion of a transaction." That is a chec ...

Realization Of An Apeirogon
In geometry, an apeirogon () or infinite polygon is a polygon with an infinite number of sides. Apeirogons are the rank 2 case of infinite polytopes. In some literature, the term "apeirogon" may refer only to the regular apeirogon, with an infinite dihedral group of symmetries. Definitions Geometric apeirogon Given a point ''A''0 in a Euclidean space and a translation ''S'', define the point ''Ai'' to be the point obtained from ''i'' applications of the translation ''S'' to ''A''0, so ''Ai'' = ''Si''(''A''0). The set of vertices ''Ai'' with ''i'' any integer, together with edges connecting adjacent vertices, is a sequence of equal-length segments of a line, and is called the regular apeirogon as defined by H. S. M. Coxeter. A regular apeirogon can be defined as a partition of the Euclidean line ''E''1 into infinitely many equal-length segments. It generalizes the regular ''n''-gon, which may be defined as a partition of the circle ''S''1 into ''finitely'' many equal-length s ...
