Realization (Johnny Rivers Album)
''Realization'' is the fifth studio album by the American musician Johnny Rivers, released in 1968. Rivers wrote two of the songs and co-wrote a third. The remaining seven are covers of popular songs from the mid-1960s. Reception The album reached No. 5 and included the No. 14 pop chart single " Summer Rain", written by James Hendricks, a former member of the Mugwumps. The album reflected some of the psychedelic influences of the time, like the song "Hey Joe" with a two-minute introduction and also marked a change in Rivers' musical direction with more introspective songs such as "Look to Your Soul" and "Going Back to Big Sur". Johnny Rivers
Johnny Rivers (born John Henry Ramistella; November 7, 1942) is a retired American musician. He achieved commercial success and popularity throughout the 1960s and 1970s as a singer and guitarist, characterized as a versatile and influential artist. Rivers is best known for his 1960s output, having popularized the mid-60s discotheque scene through his live rock and roll recordings at the Los Angeles nightclub Whisky a Go Go, and later shifting to a more orchestral, Soul music, soul-oriented sound during the latter half of the decade. Positively 4th Street
"Positively 4th Street" is a song written and performed by Bob Dylan, first recorded in New York City on July 29, 1965. It was released as a single by Columbia Records on September 7, 1965, reaching on Canada's ''RPM'' chart, on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and on the UK Singles Chart. ''Rolling Stone'' magazine ranked the song as in their 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. The song was released between ''Highway 61 Revisited'' and ''Blonde on Blonde'', as the follow-up to Dylan's hit single "Like a Rolling Stone", but was not included on either album. The song's title does not appear anywhere in the lyrics and there has been much debate over the years as to the significance or which individual the song concerns. Marty Paich
Martin Louis Paich (January 23, 1925 – August 12, 1995) was an American pianist, composer, arranger, record producer, music director, and conductor. As a musician and arranger he worked with jazz musicians Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Stan Kenton, Al Hirt, Art Pepper, Buddy Rich, Ray Brown, Shorty Rogers, Pete Rugolo, Ray Charles and Mel Tormé.
