"Ready to Fly" is the third single and the second most successful single to be lifted from Amy Pearson's debut album, '' Who I Am''. The song "Ready To Fly" was used by the Seven Network as the song to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It was released on 5 April 2008. It started on airplay on Australian radio and is played with a different radio mix, with more guitars and drum beats. The song features the Indonesian singer Rio Febrian. Music video The music video for "Ready to Fly" was shot in Shanghai, China. The video starts off with Pearson sitting down at a table in a room (or restaurant) writing the lyrics to the song on a notepad. Outside of the room there is a couple arguing with Chinese authorities. The music video then moves to Sydney. The man asks for her phone number, wanting to take her out on a date. Amy Elizabeth Pearson (born 19 July 1985) is an English singer-songwriter. Her debut album, " Who I Am", was released April 2008. Early life Pearson was born on 19 July 1985 in Birmingham, England. Whilst signed to a production company called P.O.E.T Productions run by ex-Take That session musician and songwriters Neil Oldfield and Neil Evington, Pearson was introduced to and began working closely with SonyBMG Australia's future A&R director, former '' Australian Idol'' judge Jay Dee Springbett. As a result, Pearson moved to Australia and signed to SonyBMG in 2004 at 18 years of age. Pearson commenced work on her debut album, which was recorded across 2006 and 2007. ''Who I Am'' is the first album by singer Amy Pearson released by Sony BMG in Australia on 19 April 2008 (see 2008 in music). Although the album was planned for release in November 2007, it had been pushed back due to the releases of Delta Goodrem's and Kylie Minogue's albums during the same time. However the album was released in China around the original release date.
