Raúl Martínez Sambulá
Raúl Martínez Sambulá (born 14 March 1963) is a former Honduran professional football player, who made his name with the national team in the early 1990s. Club career Martínez Sambulá started his career at C.D. Olimpia, Olimpia and then moved abroad for a lengthy spell at Mexican side Correcaminos UAT, UA Tamaulipas. He returned to Honduras in 1994 to finish his career at C.D. Victoria, Victoria. In April 1986 he helped set Francisco Adelmo Herrera's record of 7 successive clean sheets when he scored in the 30th minute of Herrera's 8th game. International career Martínez Sambulá made his debut for Honduras national football team, Honduras in the late 1980s and has earned a total of 28 caps, scoring no goals. He has represented his country in 9 FIFA World Cup qualification matches and played at the 1995 UNCAF Nations Cup, as well as at the 1991 CONCACAF Gold Cup, 1991, and 1996 CONCACAF Gold Cups. Tela
Tela is a town, with a population of 38,030 (2020 calculation), and a municipality in Honduras on the northern Caribbean coast. It is located in the department of Atlantida. History Colonial era Tela was founded by the Spanish conquistador Cristóbal de Olid on near an indigenous town named Tehuacán, ruled by a cacique named Cucumba which had a very good source of clean water, food and medicinal plants. Olid named his town Triunfo de la Cruz (Triumph of the Cross) as it was founded on this Catholic holy day. The name Triunfo de la Cruz continues to be used to day to refer to a small promontory in the bay. There are historians who say that the origin of the name is a contraction of ''Tetela'', which in the Nahuat language means "land of hills and craggy mountains." The Copa Centroamericana (, Spanish for "Central American Cup") was the main association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the ''Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol'' (UNCAF), the sport's Central American governing body. Held every two years since 1991, in the years before and after the FIFA World Cup tournaments, it was originally called the UNCAF Nations Cup (), changing to the latter name in 2011.
